The author mentions those who do martial arts, ballet, dance, and gymnastics. The method described requires no special tools or assistance, and the individual, working alone, should be able to perform splits in about two weeks. The book is structured and consists of very short chapters that build step-by-step from basics to advanced topics. Each chapter covers a related topic, defines terminology, includes a photo illustrating the body position, and narrative explanation of how the task is accomplished in step-by-step fashion, how to assess performance, keeping records, with tips and reminders. Chapter topics are basics, isometrics, testing your potential, warm-ups, stretches, side splits, contract and relax training, practice, and leg stretches. Pretty straightforward stuff, well organized and written. Review: Just like what is described in this guide - I was looking for a guide to help me achieve the splits. I have been trying to do the splits for the past few years unsuccessfully. I found this book on desertcart and decided to go all out and even purchase the hardcover version that way I can have the guide in front of me while I stretch. I ALSO followed the instructional video of the black belt martial artist and I learned A TON of new tricks! It's been less than a month now and I am soooo close to the ground now. Only a few more inches and I'll be able to do the full splits. Just like what is described in this guide, after each stretch I feel like my muscle fibres are stretched and elongated. Overall, I believe this is the best guide available on the internet. HIGHLY recommended, you won't regret it!!!

Not Helpful
I was instantly disappointed when I received this book. The font size is large and widely spaced, which means you aren't getting much information for the $20 price. The images are very blurry. The video link for the tutorial gives you an error. One of the pages was falling out, and I bought this new, so poor construction. There were many typos and it was written unprofessional writing style, as in conversational and not technical. I really wanted it to give me a day-to-day routine of stretches to do for splits, and I was just told to do the same several stretches every day, which, as someone with a CPT license, I know you aren't supposed to do. For someone in the dance profession, I expected much more, and I have requested a refund. I think I'm going to create my own method. :(

Perfect
When I was a kid, doing the splits was easy. I did dance and was very active. Now that I'm in my thirties and have serious health issues, I'm not even close. I'm not able to do any exercising, except gentle walking. I wanted to find something that I could do to stretch and work my body without hurting myself. This book is perfect. It's short and sweet. It has great instruction and definition. I find it kind of relaxing to do it and set a goal to reach. I feel active now, instead of just sitting on the couch or in front of the computer. A definite read for people looking into the splits.

Helpful. But Unprofessional and A Bit Untrustworthy.
The information in this book was very intuitive and helpful, however there were many typos in the ebook that led to a bit of confusion. The pictures didn't look very professional and overall I didn't see much scientific or tested evidence supporting the claims. I would have like to see some study results or further references, but for $2.99 I suppose it's on the customer to determine if the author's methods work for them.

Nothing new!
Hardly a book, at best a pamphlet. This looks like a poor knock off a previously published online book I bought three years ago. It deals with the same issue, using PNF stretching to achieve full side splits. The workout is exactly the same albeit the pictures are different. This book should be "free". As for the results. I use the principle myself and I can say that it works I am a black belt taekwondoka.

this was pretty good
Told me something I've never known and I incorporated it into my yoga with different moves. This actually soothed a muscle I overstretched that's been sore for a couple of months. So yeah, i really liked this. NOTE:. This is for side splits..... I was born with a type of mermaid syndrome and I wore braces as a child to straighten my legs. The braces tightened my hip bones. For a lifetime I have been trying to be more flexible but to no avail. This helped me the very first time and no soreness. I just tried it and only once but I used it for different moves and I feel better. Will continue because ten percent of something is better than a hundred percent of nothing.

It wasnt bad
The Pictures arent as messed up as a lot of people are saying , Yes some Spelling Mistakes but over all the book is really good and step by step instructions were great , Read it this morning and took the teens outside today and tried out everything that was said in the book , We might not of done it right , but it sure was fun to spend the day with the girls trying to do the splits , I ended up being able to do one , and I don't think I will ever be using my bottom again lol

Flexibility for everyone
Flexibility is a key component for a healthy body and it will protect against injury. I used to be hopelessly inflexibly, especially my legs, but through this book I learned lot's of nice exercise to improve your flexibility. To be honest I still can't do the split and I'm not sure if I can ever do it, BUT my overall flexibility has improved a lot. The exercises in the book are very well explained and illustrated with images to follow along. I recommend this book to anyone who really WANTS better flexibility and is willing to put in some work to achieve it!
