Setting up was a bit of a challenge with my Hikvision NVR compared to the plug-and-play Hikvision cameras that I have used in the past but the gain was definitely worth the pain. The seller offered helpful advice for making adjustments for contrast in light and dark conditions. I get good color images at night most of the time on one of the three cameras I bought. I still have work to do on the other two but hope to get there soon. The color images at night offer so much more visual clarity than the black and white images.

My requirements were large sensor, clear image, robust housing as well as easy to install and manage. I also wanted them to be budget friendly and these cameras ticked all my boxes. The purchase and delivery was flawless. I had one support question, which the Empire Tech team responded to almost instantly and I was up and running. NB: These are proper ONVIF compatible cameras and connected to my Blue Iris management server easily with zero fuss or bother. These cameras are low-light capable and require some minimal illumination source for best performance at night. They "do not" work in zero light situations. They "do not" have internal LED lights or IR illuminators. They come with a static IP address and if your subnet is different, they won't show up when doing an IP subnet scan. You may need to use the camera config tool to find them on your network and change the default IP address.

**Q: What is the difference between this camera and the one from dahua?    any features missing or added?   final question, can i load dahua firmware?**
A: The firmware that comes with this camera is not Dahua, it is a custom firmware by the seller and some random people over on ipcamtalk. It may start as official Dahua firmware, but it is not supported by them and you have no idea what has been changed by the seller. This is a gray market camera and not supported by Dahua, so you'll need to install official Dahua firmware at your own risk.

**Q: Is this a us version fully supported by dahua? update with dahua fimware updates?**
A: EmpireTech is excellent at providing new firmware as it becomes available.  HE supports the cams with those firmware updates-- not Dahua directly.  
If you do a google search for that cam model number and add the word "review", you will see a website with a forum for security cameras.  EmpireTech has a section on that forum where new firmware for different cams is announced frequently.  Andy is top-notch for support of these cams.  You can buy with confidence!

**Q: Is this model available in LED?**
A: Built-in IR LED, max. IR distance: 40 m .

**Q: When does the ir light come on? If there is a small amount of ambient light to record in color do the ir lights still glow?**
A: This cam has excellent low-light capabilities because of the large sensor.  I have two 13 watt LED bulbs (60 watt equivalent) in front of my house, and my cam never goes into B-W mode with IR light.   I am adding another cam in a dark area of my property-- it Will go into IR, but it has advanced analytics and will optimize the IR level to produce clear images of people and faces instead of over-exposed blown out shots.
