I used these on back vertical wall of terrarium. Plants rooted to it and water flowed down thru it with no problem. No algae growth.

Using this in place of carbon filters which kept eating my money. It works well for me since I do weekly partial water changes and rinse out the sponge. Been using the same sponge for a couple of months with no sign of degradation whatsoever.

Having a round canister filter only able to get one piece per pad.Not very cost-effective Imo.Pretty easy to clean and reuse.

Worked as expected

This sponge is huge. So much bigger then I realized.I only have two tanks. I don't think I'll ever have to buy filter sponge again.The sponge works nicely. It's fine enough that it traps plenty, without getting clogged. It's easy enough to cut to shape.

This filter material expanded into shape immediately after soaking in warm water for 5 minutes. I cut it to fit my hang on back filters, replacing the filter floss with this foam material. So far, it works very well and seems at least as effecient as the polyfiber I had been using.Its also fairly easy to clean. Just remove from filter and squeeze it while rinsing.

We ordered these for a second time and was shocked when we got the packages. They have changed the packaging. They are MUCH smaller pkg’s. However, we dubiously followed the instructions and wallla! It was the correct size! If you order, just double check your size before you hit the pay button. And don’t freak if you get a pkg that is a fraction of the size you expected.On a side note. They say they did this change to save on pkg waste…except they put 4 aprx 5x7x1.5 in boxes in a box big enough for a pair of tall snow boots to ship it…??..how is that saving packaging???

I just received this a few minutes ago. The spec states 19.6 x 19.6 x 1.57. I was surprised it was in a small box and I thought perhaps this is box contains another shipment that I was expecting later this afternoon. I was shocked to see it was the sponge and it was shrunk to 8 x 5 x1.5 inches, rough estimate. Then it had instructions on stretching it out and then having to soak them in water for the sponge to regain its shape! This sponge was too big for any of my aquariums so I have to use the bathroom tub to get this done. So much work for this. If the description states the sponge was shrunk, I would have pass on it.
