Dee Zee DZ43205 Tailgate Assist Shock

Unfortunately after almost 2 years my piston gave up today. The strangest thing happened... I closed my tailgate and maybe 1 minute later went to open it but it jammed, only opening maybe 10 degrees.Thought there was something stuck in my tailgate but couldn't find anything. I used pliers to release the spring retention clips to take the piston off and my tailgate was free.It worked without a problem otherwise. Very strange that it would fail in such a manner. I use my truck for construction and it often gets abused, dusty, concrete, dirt, etc. so perhaps some stone dust worked it's way in and jammed up the piston.Anyway, I'm ordering another... Just gonna snap the new piston on my old hardware and I'll be happy to get another 2 years out of it.

The T50 wrench does not seem to fit properly, as mentioned by another reviewed. I installed the DZ43205 on my F350 and although it's better than not having anything, I still need to hold the tailgate a bit, so it doesn't bang at the end. The one on our F150 works wonder, I open the tailgate and let it go. Perhaps the F350 tailgate is too heavy?

Super easy install, nice slow descent, no more tailgate slam.Work so good until you let go of the work trucks tailgate and then realize, they dont have them like your truck haha.Got my dad a set for his F250 after he saw them on my F150.Great product.Highly recommend.

Really easy to install and works great! MyKids can now open the tailgate without it falling on them! If you are on the fence, go for it. Totally worth the $$

EZ install. Works great. So glad I bought it. Tailgate glides down nice. No more slamming down if your holding something in your other hand.
