Are these toys or real? Can I hear a heart beat?

After buying one and reading reviews, here's what happens: it is a 2 directional stethoscope. The sound is not super loud, but it is there. The piece you place to listen can be twisted to change which direction you can listen from. If it's twisted the wrong way, you will hear nothing.

Does this look real? Is it adult size? I need stethoscopes for a movie prop. Would these work?

It is real and adult sized. Would be perfect for a prop.

They are real, not the quality a medical professional would want to use all day, but great for teaching kids about their bodies or to put in your home medical kit. If you’ve never used a stethoscope give yourself a 10 minute lesson on you tube so you know how to properly adjust and use them. Both the ear pieces and the diaphragm need to be properly adjusted for good results. Also you need to know where to place it on the body to hear what you want to hear.

Could you hear a 3rd trimester baby heartbeat with these?

I don't see you not. It's the same type Nurses and Doctors use. I'm a Respiratory Therapist and use them. Now, let me end by saying I haven't tried them on a trimester baby/mother so there is that!

Works well and is very cute!

So I didn’t realize this at first but you have to twist the end to hear anything. Once you do it really works! The ear piece is hard plastic and you wont want to wear it for long! Need to order some small soft ear pieces for this but my daughter loves it and I think for the price it was a good buy!

It’s a joke-

Ok, I know this is cheap, but my kids love to play doctor and vet. I thought it would be fun for them and stop them from using my extremely expensive one for work! I literally cannot not hear ANYTHING with it! Lol. It’s actually funny because it’s so bad! I even held it up to my own heart and according to it I was dead. Lol!!! No heartbeat. Oh well- the kids can use it on their stuffed animals. Lol

excellent value, very functional stethoscope

Can't be beat for the priceworks perfectly well to hear heartsounds, can clearly hear S1, S2, murmurs, even through light clothing. take BP. Lung sounds. all perfectly heard.For all of those who have written reviews that it doesnt work at all, they likely are not familiar with the use of a double headed stethoscope or put it together wrong - more than likely, they have to simply select the correct head (I would bet $10 they have selected the bell side, unknowingly) by holding the stem and spinning the head 180 degrees until it clicks to select the correct surface.outstanding value!!! totally recommendedRH, MD.

Great for my daughter's costume

I ordered these for my daughter, who is 6, for part of a costume. They came in a small box, well packaged and undamaged. They come in 3 separate pieces, which are very easy to attach together. One is the ear piece, one is the pink cord, and one is the bottom portion. They feel sturdy, and don't feel like they would break easily. My only complaint that I have is that you can not hear a heartbeat on here. I tried multiple people and nobody seemed to have a heartbeat that this would pick up on. You could tap the bottom part and it would echo where you could hear it through the ear piece, but not something as subtle as a heartbeat. The price was great, I actually got 2 for about $5 as an add-on item, and free shipping, which was also nice. These are great for my daughter's costumes, but I'm not sure they work so well for anything else.
