Can I run this as a 2 pin fan ?

Yes I have a pair on the back of my k3 Elecraft amateur radio running it two pins you will have to choose the speed you want with the wires that come out of the fan its self. I have a third fan on the inlet opening of the amp to help with its cooling again using only two of the wires.

It looks like it has 3 wires coming out of the fan. which wires do you connect to 12 vdc, +/- , high or low speed?

As the last person answered, you can just connect the red and black for max speed and noise or use the provided cables to change it to the speed and noise level you like. I have two of these, one I have running at full speed and the other I used a resistance cable to slow it down to the medium speed to be very quiet and still do a good job of cooling. This is a good quiet fan and with the cables provided you have a 3 speeds, so the choice is yours. I did not use the third wire for anything.

What is the current draw?

This is the current draw listed on the package. The Product shipped to me does not conform to this rating and only draws 0.06 amps at 12.0 volts.

am i able to solder this to be powered by a batter?

You can cut the plug off and solder the + & - to whatever source or solder leads to your battery and plug them into the original fan plug,but remember this is a 12 volt fan by design....Hope this helps
