ella+mila Nail Polish, ELITE Collection - Island Hopping

I was super excited to come across a 7 free nail polish brand and then when I found one of my favorite colors (which I had been searching for) I absolutely had to get it. I was pleasantly surprised by how pigmented it was. A gorgeous deep dark teal, and all in one coat! No streakiness to be seen. (Although I have short, small nails so it doesn't take much to coat them.) The formula glides on like satin. I'm a fan of elephants so I really enjoyed the cute packaging as well. I can't find anything bad to say about this polish. I haven't tried any of the other colors so I can't say anything about them, but if you love dark jewel tones, just buy this polish and enjoy. ;)

I love the color. It's a little more green then in the picture and it's just what I wanted! It's close in color to "Bang On" by Butter London but almost 1/2 the price. However it's not the same quality. The color went on in almost one coat and I let it dry thoroughly. It dried fairly quick but once I started moving around it got dull and blotchy looking within minutes. Pictured is with a store bought top coat I added. It made a big difference in the shine and duribility. I ordered the matching top coat to try out. if I can't improve the look and duribility I'll have to pass on this brand.Update: so I got the top coat both "in a rush" quick dry and the matte finish. The "in a rush" also gives the polish a matte finish and it did help the surface of polish on nail dry faster. However the nail polish doesn't 100% dry for me. Even more than 24 hours later the nail polish is still pliable. It dents, wrinkled, deforms with ripples and bumps. I can smooth the push flat again with my fingers. I can even semi-meld slits back together. I painted in 2-3 thin layers letting each dry 20-30 minutes. I then sit for another hour after I used the "in a rush" top coat. After just a few minutes of light use, the surface of the polish gets dull and blotchy. I've tried three different colors with same results. I want to love this polish free from chemicals but it just doesn't work.I've had much better luck with Zoya which is also advertised as non toxic.
