16" Genuine Leather Retro Rucksack Backpack College Bag,School Picnic Bag Travel

Where do I begin? While trying to be more practical I decided spending hundreds of dollars for a designer backpack and giving my hard earned money to people who already have hundreds of millions of dollars in their checking accounts and more money than I will ever see is a thing of the past. Sorry Coach!!(Not Sorry) I read many of the reviews for this backpack and decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did!!! THIS BACKPACK IS AWESOME!!! The backpack arrived folded and cryo wrapped. Upon unwrapping the strong chemical smell took over my kitchen but I was expecting that from many of the reviews I read. The hardware was nicely wrapped in cellophane so there was no mold or corrison. First thing I did was stuff the bag with old clothes and rags to get the full shape of the bag. Then I wiped it down with a damp cloth and this reduced the smell consideribly. Next was to treat it with mineral oil and that's when this beauty came to life. The color became lusturous and shiny. It now looks like one of the best looking backpacks I've seen. The hardware is functional but subpar but I will soon upgrade with solid brass or pewter hardware. From the looks that should be an easy swap. I added a draw string pulley from an old designer bag and I think it adds a nice touch. The backpack is durable, well made and just the right size (16in). I like the placement of the additional pockets and find them to be very functional. I do wish it had a separate compartment for laptops, pens, pencils and card slots but for $50 bucks I'll deal. It really looks great should last for years with proper care. The vintage style is a major head turner. I can't wait to really put it to the weekend warrior test. For the price, durability, quality and style this is an awesome backpack. Get one. You'll be glad you did.

Been looking for an affordable leather backpack to carry my work/school things in. This backpack seems sturdy while comfortable. Very roomy and big(18 in), hubby says I should have bought 16in but since I’m going to be carrying a fair amount of items especially since I ride my bike to work I prefer to go bigger. But even being 5’2” I don’t feel like it looks too big on me. This will also make a good carry on when needed as I’ll need my hands for my toddler. Good weight to it but not heavy. Came in rather stiff as to be expected and a chemical smell which also I’ve found is common with packaged leather goods to keep leather from going bad. I stuffed it with 3 throw pillows and wiped it down with Leather cleaner and then with conditioner. 3rd day and it’s getting softer. Low rating helped keep my expectations within reasonable standard and “you get what you pay for” mentality but this is a golden egg for me. I love it and hope to keep loving it for a long time as it seems to look like it’s going to have a long life with me. Keep your standards reasonable this isn’t a gucci product not made for the picky. So I was curious about all the reviews that say it smells. look in the front pocket there is a card that tells you how to reduce the smell. It was tightly packed folded and all the metal was wrapped. tightly. . The smell was mild by then and it has started to have that leather smell. I have not treated it with saddle soap yet, but I plan to do that soon. too help it decompress and shape I stuffed it with pillows and left it for a few days, but some of the creases are still there. I personally don't mindThis thing is a behemoth! I plan on using this for our homeschool year to cary our computers. tablets and books when we need to be on the road everything we need fits and there is still room to stack upwards. Pockets galore! I don't even know what to put in them all, but I am sure that I will find something! I love it!

I needed a smaller backpack to carry rain gear and "stuff" while on a river tour. When I saw the bag I though it was the perfect size and it was. The price point was so low I was skeptical and then I read all the one star and five star reviews. I want to thank all the folks that wrote one star reviews because it kept my expectations reasonable. I want to thank all the five star reviews for convincing me to just go ahead and buy it. The smell is exactly what I recall as a kid buying Army surplus leather gear after WWII. I like it...go figure! The leather looks great and is certainly strong enough for the use I have. Yes, it is too small for an efficient book bag but this product definitely exceeds my expectations and is a great value at $30 more than I paid for leather product I received.

Perfect bag for carrying the essentials even we guys need on-the-go (phones are getting bigger; water always; never be without a book, e- or plain paper; advice from someone who has been all over the world in the most out of the way jungles and in the most ancient, still bustling cities--don't ever get caught without a small "Moleskin" notebook or journal and if you're a true writer a nice fountain pen, but really even just a damn pencil and a tiny pocket knife that has a blade to sharpen with and a bottle opener for liquid courage and inspiration--and the spare phone battery, small torch, a.k.a. penlight, and extra memory card; and all the other little things that make you you) and all the other little items you'll only wish you had brought when you reach in your pocket and find it's not there along with whatever else you don't have the room in your pockets for. Don't feel like wearing a man purse? Want to have a strong, lasting and durable bag instead of another in a long line of lame canvas backpacks--or worse? Plus, whether you're in faded jeans slogging through the back streets of any city anywhere, toking up with friends in Sheep's Meadow in NY or in a suit and tie making tomorrow today, this leather pack will go with anything and through just as much. It's worth it. So treat yourself. TWO THINGS TO REMEMBER IF YOU DO THOUGH: 1. Make sure you do treat yourself and don't just buy it and leave it behind, and 2. Be sure that before you use it you treat the leather to keep it soft and waterproof. With regular maintenance, as with all other leather, it will always be a classic and never go out of style and yes, it will last you a life time--if not longer.

My word, this thing is great! I'll be honest, I've had MANY backpacks over the years (high school, college, going to comic cons, etc), but none of them had that 'this is a commitment' type of feel to it. Like buying a beater car vs a nice car you're proud of. This backpack is one that I am indeed VERY proud of.The leather is very nice, the stitching is solid, the rivets hold everything together very nicely, I cannot think of one thing to complain about! I would normally complain about how rigid it is, but as time goes on, the leather will soften up and have a bit more play in it.For the price, it's TOTALLY worth it! Surprised at how many pockets it has, like....WOW!

I got this backpack because I never wanted to have to buy another backpack ever again, and I think I chose wisely with this one.For the price, it's great. It's really durable, even the sewing holds up against some abuse. It's a smaller backpack, so you may need to pack a little lighter. the buckles and brackets seem to be coated in brass -- if not made of it -- which is nice, since brass doesn't rust.the carry handle, brackets, and tie string allow you to get pretty creative with carrying extra gear. For example, the brackets on the bottom of the straps allow for you to easily tie some cording through and secure a sleeproll onto the bottom of the backpack. i've also hung tools, such as hatchets and spades, directly onto the tie string where it's exposed on the sides of the backpack.Many reviews of this product will speak of an odor, and this review is no exception. You're going to want to wash this down with something good to get the odor out of the backpack. Airing it out will not work. I've owned this backpack for about 2 years now, and after the times I've cleaned it, it doesn't smell anywhere near as bad as it used to, but it still smells nonetheless.Apart from the odor, my only other real complaint is that the straps are not comfortable. If you plan to buy yourself this backpack, I reckon you also get some strap cushions to pair with it. The straps are thin so they tend to dig into your arms and shoulders a bit.

Bellissimo e fatto a mano, arrivato subito nei tempi previsti con un buon imballo. Molto soddisfatta, appena aperto ha un odore strano ma è dato dalla pelle che comunque scompare subito stando aperto. Ci ho fatto le vacanze ed è ottimo. Contentissima! E poi il venditore è veramente gentile e disponibile. Certificato fatto a mano!

Der Rucksack ist groß, sehr gut verarbeitet, hat eine wunderschöne Farbe und ganz viel Platz für alles was man braucht. Genauso einen hab ich gesucht und bin total happy. Die Qualität ist wirklich super und dann noch für so einen Preis wirklich unschlagbar. Ich kann ihn absolut empfehlen. Ganz tolle Arbeit.

Utmärkt för att ha till jobbet. Rymmer mycket och står för sig själv. Grov läderkvalitet som verkar robust.
