Macho Callahan [Blu-ray]

This is the first time I'd ever seen this movie as I don't think it has ever been on British TV (correct me if I'm wrong). I was a fan of David Janssen as a teenager having seen him on TV as 'The Fugitive' and then as 'Harry O'. Janssen also starred in various films in the 60's and 70's including this Western. My purchase was an American import Blu-ray and the quality was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed the film even though the ending was a bit sad. It's a very gritty, violent story with Janssen escaping from a hell hole POW camp during the Civil War (probably based on the real-life Andersonville) and tracking down the man who betrayed him. This film is not for the faint-hearted which is why I give it 5 stars. Brilliant.

This Spanish release has more the looks of an old VHS tape sound is very bad movie is a weird western not a classic not a bad one either with an exceptional cast Movie deserves a second chance op dvd dvd

Waited ages for it to arrive as I really wanted to see this film. DVD won’t play in my machine. VERY disappointed. Listing is not clear as to where it will play.

i thought it was in english but it was only in spanish and i could have bought english version on e-bay much cheaper.this dvd will not play in English no matter how I try or what you say.

Punctual arrival and one helluva movie! Color me happy yet again.

Cuando fui niño, en los sesentas, junto a mi padre pude ver la sensacional serie de tv El Fugitivo. Y, al finalizar el episodio, me decía mi papá que buen actor es el fugitivo. nos gustó mucho la serie.Años después, a principios de los setentas, vi anunciada en el cine la película Macho Callahan y, nunca habíavisto un western con David Janssen. La vi y Janssen interpretó magistralmente a Macho Callahan.Su película, se convirtió en western de leyenda, con un gran reparto: Jean Seberg, David Carradine, Lee J. Cobb y Pedro Armendáriz. Y, entonces, recordando a mi papá dije... que gran actor es David Janssen.

J'aime les westerns

Rarement vu des confédérés aussi sales et brutaux, western très violent mais intéressant par la complexité des sentiments entre ce macho qui se venge d'avoir été berné et martyrisé en tant que prisonnier et la jolie veuveJean Seberg qui après avoir été séduite par lui est responsable de sa mort pour avoir promis une prime pour venger la mort de son mari tué par le macho au début de l'histoire. D'excellents acteurs et de beaux paysages font de ce western un très grand film.
