Good werewolf reading with a varied delivery
While A Lycanthropy Reader is officially authored by Charlotte Otten, it is actually made up of excerpts from over a dozen writers. If you have read other werewolf books, you are probably already familiar with a lot of the material covered here. But the cocktail of different authors makes it interesting nonetheless. Most of the chapters are fairly short, and each grouping thereof has an introduction which are really the only parts originally penned by Otten. Some of said chapters are older works than others, so there are different writing styles and terminologies used throughout.Alternating between informative essays and archaic legends, with A Lycanthropy Reader you get a mix between storytelling and grounded documentation. A few chapters barely mention wolves at all, such as in that of the medieval witch craze. These bits still help to shed light on the mentality people had in the Middle Ages, and how it translated to widespread belief in werewolves.I have other werewolf material that I already favor, and this book does not blow them out of the water or anything. However, it is still of good quality and well put-together. Fans of the topic, like myself, will certainly appreciate it.

Hairy experience...
Fascinating and full of erudition, a book about one of the most powerful myth of our time. No judgement, just the facts. One of the best books about the subject, alongside with "The beast within" from Adam Douglas.

Unexpectantly Impressive
The book offers far more information than I had at first expected to find within its pages. It also offered information I had not found elsewhere, which was quite interesting.
