Pockets on side butt
Y’all!!! The back pockets! Most awkward placing ever. They are on my side butt so it makes me look sooo much wider than I am.. Hahahaha. My family and I laughed so hard at them. I mean at the price point I didn’t have very high expectations sooo.. possible one time manufacturing defect but I’m not taking another chance. The fit was right. I ordered a size larger than I normally would because I wanted a looser fit. The material is nice and stretchy.I just can’t get over the pocket placement. I am returning.

Awesome shorts!
These shorts are so amazing I bought a second pair! Originally I ordered these in black, as I'm 18 weeks pregnant and my normal shorts are getting uncomfortable around my belly. The second pair I bought are the light blue pair. These fit me so comfortably! The black ones are ever so slightly baggy, especially after wearing them several times, but they're SO COMFY. The cotton part on the black shorts covers my entire belly (up to the bottom of my bra) and gives my little bump a cute shape with plenty of room to grow. The light blue shorts don't go up quite as high (the cotton part stops around my natural waist), and they're a little tighter than the black pair, but they're still very comfortable. Both shorts reach to about my upper/mid thigh so they're relatively modest. The best part is that they both have back pockets! They also look more or less like real denim despite being a more stretchy material, so I can wear these anywhere without feeling like I'm in pajamas. I'm very happy with both pairs of shorts.

Great for postpartum as well
I ended up ordering these after giving birth since I was pregnant during fall and winter. With the temperatures rising I was not about to wear jeans and leggings all the time and naturally my pre-pregnancy shorts weren't fitting yet. These have been great! They definitely don't look like maternity shorts and have a great amount of stretch on the belly band and in the shorts themselves. The belly band is VERY long. It comes up to my boobs which I know would be wonderful for any pregnant belly. Had I been pregnant during shorts weather I would have ordered a few pairs of these. The shorts themselves had a good amount of stretch as well without being too tight and without losing their shape. They are more cotton and spandex than denim, but the denim print is nice and does not fade in the wash.

What Must a Lady Do For a Freaking Pocket Around Here?
I am not the first, nor will I be the last, to complain about the heinous disregard of clothing designers’ for women’s desires for functional pockets. Indeed, the outcry for useful pockets has given rise to an entire sub genre of relatable memes, tweets, and other catchy content, which heretofore have been ignored almost entirely by the clothing industry. Until now!Upon donning these shorts and securing my burgeoning fetal-induced bulge within the belly band, I was enormously pleased to discover these shorts do, in fact, have a single front pocket. After some experimentation, I determined this pocket CAN hold the following:- $0.50 USD (in quarters or dimes only, and the dimes were a bit of a stretch)- A single cotton ball- Thirty grains of uncooked rice- Half an ice cube (for a time)- A lip balm capAnd it CANNOT hold:- Literally anything I would actually want or need to store in a pocketAlas, my search for maternity shorts continues, as this insult of a pocket has left me bewildered, infuriated, and somehow even more frustrated than I would have been had there been no pocket at all.

Disappointed
I was really excited about these, but after trying them on, there is no way I will be able to wears these during pregnancy. I am in my third trimester at 31 weeks. I currently weigh 132 lbs and I’m 5’2”. In first trimester, I weighed 111 lbs and wore a size 4, so I bought this size bc I’m probably a 6 now. He one thing that made me instantly dislike this pair was that the picture advertised about how far the belly band goes up is totally misleading. When I put the shorts on, the top of the band cuts me off at the belly button, and the fabric is sooo tight that I feel like it is hurting my stomach and baby, and it is hard to breath. If it was stretchier or went up either high or low, it would have been fine. The pockets are far apart, but I knew that before I bought these. ...I really wanted them to work. ....maybe post pregnancy, but it doesn’t seem like it.
