Stops my E string whistle
======I use the Dominant E combined with Larsen Virtuoso G, D, and A. My bowing is still in need of improvement and I get the E whistle on certain string crossings. A little reading on the topic suggests some string material are more prone than others. The Dominant E ticks the boxes for criteria that may suppress said whistle and in my experience it does just that. It has a nice tone and sound and complements the Larsens well.I never get a whistle on this E whereas I often do with the Larsens, this combo is the best of both worlds.

They're not great, but they are loud.
In addition to ordering online, I purchased a set of these from a music store and got a look of disdain from the clerk and an "...are you sure?"Yeah, look, I get it. These aren't the most mellifluous strings on the market. They're kinda harsh. But they're loud. And I'm using this on an electric violin that's getting played over the lackluster PA systems of seedy bars and nightclubs. I need something that's loud, cheap, cuts through a mix, and holds tune. Which these do.Would I put them on my good acoustic violin and play a partita? Good lord no. But for fiddling through an amp, they get the job done.

Recommended by our violin teacher
We've always used Dominant violin stings for our daughter for 10+ years, because they were recommended by her first violin teacher. The strings always sound nice. We go through more E strings than the rest and I like how I can purchase them separately and not have to buy a whole set.

Quality violin strings at a great price
the E string on my fiddle bit the dust while I was tuning recently. I live in an old farmhouse, and we supplement our oil heat with a gas stove in the living room. Last winter, I kept my fiddle in its case with a humidifier pod, but this year I left it hanging out with only a "worm" inside, hoping to be able to pick it up whenever I wanted. Alas, the tuning suffers, thus the string. I changed to these strings a year ago, biting the bullet at the price, and the sound quality is wonderful. Buying from this company online was a happy surprise. I'll definitely be a return customer.
