Do these nest together?

No. The large ones go about 1/4 inch inside when stack. So they stack well but not what I would call "nesting". The small ones do,of course, fit inside large ones 100%.

Do they get super hot like some glass in the microwave or do they stay about the temp as the heated food?

Hey Bob, I would say that it is my experience that the glass heats up faster than the food. I have found that with all glass I have ever put in a microwave. I have just started to heat things up on the stove and use the glass containers as food prep and storage for leftovers.

There seems a contradiction on the description. Are the lids dishwasher safe or they need to be hand washed?

It's written confusing but the lids and containers are both dishwasher safe. The text is meant to clarify that the lids should not remain attached to the containers when placing them in the dishwasher. They need to be physically detached from each other.

Are the lids dishwasher safe?

It may not be guaranteed by the company , however, I’ve used these for several years.( the same ones ) I’ve placed the glass on the bottom rack in the dishwasher AND the lids ON THE TOP RACK. They have kept their shape and continue to hold a tight seal. The only thing that has happened is that sometimes the rubber circular band that creates the seal comes off but it’s fairly easy to slip back on. That sometimes happens even when washing by hand too.
