Q: I see this unit supports android auto....how many units have been sold with android auto? i only see 1 review for this was hoping to see more.

I purchased this unit and android auto is basically the only thing that doesn't work properly, everything else works great including carplay

I have a 2011 Jetta. Had this stereo for over a year now and no battery problems. No adapter needed, you install it in 10 minutes. There are better versions of the firmware in RCD's forums, once you have it, you can download and install

Q: For CarPlay to work does it need to be connected via hard wire, or will it have full functionality via Bluetooth?

Hardwired for Apple carplay, doesn't support blutooth

Q: Will this unit work with 2014 Passat SE 2.5?

It should, I had it in a 2012 Jetta. Might need to reset the electronic codes to get the audio to work. I used a CCD reader.
