Lonely Planet Miami & the Keys (Travel Guide) Paperback – January 1, 2012

I was very pleased with Lonely Planets, Miami and the Keys. First and foremost, I am an avid map reader. I am studding places I would like to visit and possibly make my home. I want an en-depth clear mental view of the entire area to study at length. I feel that the maps in this publication are excellent and well worth the money just in them selves. Further more, I was drawn in to the wonderful friendly writing style that Mr. Adam Karlin uses to introduce the reader to so many fantastic venues that await a traveler in Southeastern Florida. By all means I would recommend this book to anyone anticipating travel in this area and I would point out that it would be wise to read the text well in advance of actual departure. It is the kind of information that is interesting reading beforehand, and definitely an asset to keep easily tucked in ones purse or pocket for spur of the moment reference as your journey unfolds! Miami is a beautiful fast moving tropical city. You should know your way ahead of time, and have things planed. This book will help you do just that!

The guide is quite helpful. It contains the best points we need to make our trip an excellent experience. At the beginning, finding the content we were looking for was a little confusing, once it is a version to use with a Kindle, but after a short navigation we got used to it and went on looking for information and get great value of it.Thanks to the guide the trip was a great experience!

I had this on my Kindle and phone -- and found it useful -- especially the top sites to see since we were only there for a short time.. My only problem with e-book guides is that you can't blow up the maps, which would be a great addition.

My husband and I are headed to the Keys in 11 days for our honeymoon. We are adventure and outdoors oriented. I've used the lonely planet books for years when backpacking in other countries. This book met my expectations and then some. The book ioffers great information, logical organization, and a variety of dining and lodging options for all budgets. I appreciate the inclusion of kayak and bike rental shops, snorkeling outfitters, and oddities like Perky's Bat Tower!

I recieved my book in a few days after I ordered it. I have always used Lonely Planet books because they are the best. I haven't gotten to utilize it for my trip yet, but I'm already more confident that we will find everything we need with this book. Also, the book was in great condition and arrived very soon after I ordered it, I think 3 days maximum.

We have just Finished travel to Florida.Book is good guide, but it is missing pictures and drawings. It is heavy to read as it is now.

We like to explore off-the-beaten path places when we travel. I have used other Lonely Planet guides that I enjoyed (Costa Rica), but this one I felt was kinda thin on coverage of places we enjoy, and kinda Miami heavy. I got the Kindle version... Might be good if you're more into shopping, bar-hopping, but wasn't great for us.

This book was so helpful in giving great places to eat and sleep. My husband and I took of in a rental car through Miami and the Keys without a plan or reservation and this book helped us the whole way.

Bought this for my son who is now in Miami with it and uses it all the time. He says its proving very useful and he has been to loads of places he would never have otherwise known about or found, which is praise indeed considering people of his generation mostly rely on apps for everything.

Really helpful, tells you about interesting parts of the area that you wouldn't see or hear about otherwise. Good for finding restaurants, hotels, sights and more.
