On many reviews for other products I saw complaints about the height adjustment slipping mid use, which can destroy your work. They all had transparent plastic locking collars. To my mind few things scream cheep as loudly as transparent plastic. This has a metal collar, adjustment knob, calibration marks and a massive steel latch, I don't see it slipping ever. I think it cost almost ten dollars more, well worth the difference. I'm retired and have never needed a router before, so I doubt it will see much use so a cheep router was important, this doesn't seem to have caused any loss in performance so I have to give it five stars.
