The quality of the finish and mechanism is excellent. It’s built like a tank and is comfortable to use. I have tried pressing cloves without peeling them first, which I’ve tried a couple of times and it works (sadly, I usually forget until I’ve already peeled them!). Cleaning it is fairly easy, as long as you rinse off the press right after you use it (pretty much the same as any other), and then I throw it in the dishwasher and there have been zero negative results of doing this.
