**Q: We have a laptop with a db25 connector but no db9.will this adapter give us a serial connection to the machine without a special driver? plug & play?**
A: The question is what "machine" are you connecting to the laptop? A serial modem? A printer? A CNC router? The connector is not Plug & Play.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do. I used it to connect an old EPROM programmer with a 25-pin socket to a USB-serial cable with a 9-pin plug. Works great.
