Best in this price point
I did a lot of research before buying from this vendor, and the quality is likely superior for the following reasons: Metal propeller. Other products have a plastic prop and include a backup one, which is a red flag to me Propeller protector. That seems like a nice add-on Adjustable handle. This upgrade works very well. 4-stroke. Allowed on more lakes, less pollution, no mixing oil and gas Other reviews mentioned customer service, I had a question and they answered promptly and thoroughly It is also taller than some other engines in the same price range Nothing has broken and it runs great so far! It's definitely a budget product, so I don't expect it to work as well as a $1000 Honda motor, but it gets the job done! Edit after a summer of (ab)use: The propeller protector broke off. The engine also randomly skips or sputters, so I'm guessing it just needs to get tuned up or something, which I won't do. I literally dumped this engine in the water a few times and it still runs fine. The throttle spring is now loose so sometimes the engine won't slow down completely. Overall it's very reliable and won't break down, which is very nice to have with a four-stroke in this price range. If you aren't as concerned about reliability, you could look for a similar price range for a used four-stroke that would require more maintenance, and probably give better performance. If you want something cheap and reliable with almost zero maintenance, this is your motor. It's so nice to have this new reliable motor that's cheap enough to not worry if I destroy it.

great little dinghy engine
This is a great little engine for our dinghy. Starts right up and not heavy to lift (that was important for us) . Pushes the dinghy around just fine. I even got it running again after I dropped and submerged it in salt water (don't ask and not that I recommend doing that). Also, great customer service.

Observations Thus Far
I received this item today and assembled it with the instructions provided. Packaging was good, no damage and delivery was a day earlier than estimated. As others have mentioned, the propeller is some type of cast metal and motor comes with a tool kit, propeller guard, shear pins, extra screws wrenches, allen keys etc. The first thing I noticed was the on/off switch was installed upside down on the J shaped throttle handle. No biggie really, it was held on by one screw so simple fix to reposition. It is one of those things though that makes you wonder about thoroughness of quality control in other perhaps more critical areas. Time will tell I suppose. The instructions, which are in English, were fair for the most part but provided no detail I could find on type of gear lube for the propeller gear box (lower unit). The gearbox does appear to have a fill/drain screw so I sent an inquiry to their customer service email asking what lubricant, how much to use, etc in case its not shipped with lube already topped off. (Update: per service tech rep motor is shipped with gearbox lube installed and they answered within just a couple hours of my email). It did take me a minute to attach the J handle to the motor. Seemed the two part clamp was too tight until I applied a fair amount of force to the two halves of the clamp to mate the halves together around the handle. Seems to hold handle position really well once assembled. I bought this motor for pushing a sailboat (approx 750 lbs with people and gear) in and out of mooring and will edit my review after a good sea trial. Update: I used the motor recently. It pushed the boat at 4.2 mph top speed. It did skip intermittently a few times but contacted customer service with the issue and they immediately shipped me a new carburetor.

DANGER FIRE
Bought in '23, tried it out a few times in a 55gl garbage can and it worked OK, stored it outside since then and just like that the thing burn up on its own on 9'24. Luckily I was at home and notice a burning smell and ran downstairs to the garden and douse the fire out. Flames burned aprox. $1000 worth of stuff that was close by. It was a foggy 58 deg. day when this happen

Nice Motor - GREAT Customer Service!
I bought this motor without any idea how good it was or how reliable the company was, but decided to try it and am glad I did. The most important thing I appreciated about this company (CUKUSIN) is their GREAT customer service! It did take a while for the motor to arrive, and after I put it together, I felt it could start a little easier and the throttle acceleration should engage sooner and be more responsive. I contacted the company and received an immediate reply to my issues which led to the service department sending me 2 videos on how to deal with my issues. By following the guidance and direction I received and making a few adjustments, the motor performed much better as I expected it should! I am quite pleased and expect it will run and perform as well when I try it on a boat in the water (it has been raining for 2 weeks straight here)! I do feel very confident if I have any problems in the future, customer service will definitely be there for help!

Tough little engine
This little motor is great, super tough. I’ve had it out in large bays/ estuaries. Rivers, bayous and ponds and she keeps going. Even got caught in a heavy rainfall and she kept going. The little coil pack that attaches to the spark plug is fragile tho, it broke but the seller was nice enough to send another one. I like this little engine, it’s been awesome!

Motor runs really good. It performs very adequately and It can move you pretty quick as well so far I have zero issues. It’s actually a very solid built motor. And parts are easily bought at their website which makes replacement of almost every single part can be replaced, which I love about it which means it can be simply maintained and repaired. I think The motor is running a little too rich, but that can be easily adjusted on the fuel mixture, which is very straightforward to do if you know about carburetters so honestly, knowing that I have zero problems with it besides the handle being a little too short, other than that, it’s a really good outboard and I would definitely consider buying some other four stroke air cooled engines from CUKUSIN as well. It’s definitely would be worth my while.

Whatever you do don’t purchase this product it started smoking after an hour of use and now the lower end is stripped. Completely useless Buy a used name brand motor that’s what I ended up doing. Customer service was no help
