Scrubby Reusable Whiteboard Notebook-Junior Size (5.5" x 8")-Eye I Cover

I've always been a lists person. And at work I typically do about 17 things at once, from coding new data solutions to writing SQL reports to pull data out of the database, to fielding phone calls about correcting students' records to learning about a new state mandate for even more data - and all the while I'm jotting reminders to myself, or scribbling notes about things I need to correct later that could function differently, etc. In years prior, all of these scribbles typically landed on Post-it Notes or scraps of paper pulled hastily from a notebook full of ideas to explore, or on back of the agenda from last week's meetings about.... well, you get the idea.And in my work, some of those notes happen to have a student name or DOB or SSID scribbled down along with it - and those kinds of tidbits are tightly protected by various regulations. So any of these bits and pieces of paper that I scribble on that DO have any kind of student data on them have to be shredded. That's a lot of paper being turned into confetti, my friends. Because I'm fanatic about protecting student data.Then one day I saw this little gem, and I thought to myself "Now THIS is a game changer!" I have a separate page for phone messages, another for requests regarding student records, another set of pages dedicated to working notes on various coding projects, and still other pages where I put all my ideas for future projects... you get LOTS of pages for categorizations. Heck, way back in the back, I keep my running grocery list and personal reminders. This is super-great because this Junior size is the perfect size for carrying in my purse.I love the way the pen glides over the surface of each page. It really does make note-taking very smooth, fast and easy. No writer's cramp! I also love the large rubber band that is included, allowing you to wrap all the way around the book horizontally. The band holds the pen in the spine nicely. Maybe one day, somebody will come up with a Scrubby Cover, complete with pen holder and nifty pockets for your business card. Until then, the rubber band is useful and does the trick.But here's the really fun part. As I finish working on things, I pull out my microfiber cloth (the one I got to clean my eyeglasses) and wipe that item off my page. Poof! It's done. Gone! Outta here!!! The funny thing is, I used to look forward to seeing a page full of check marks. Now I look forward to seeing my pages go blank.But when the pages don't (or *shouldn't*) go blank - those times when I need to be able to read something several days later that I record today - I have to admit, the writing can get kind of scratched up. Still, it's so much better to have to retrace a couple of letters in a sentence with the pen than it is to go about wasting all that paper. Since they don't allow deductions of 1/2 star (or 1/4 star) I guess I'll just leave my rating at 5 stars.I can envision a great many different layouts for a notebook like this. In my opinion, this product could be a game-changer. Especially for Post-It Notes aficionados.

I got this one and the smaller WipeNote pad so I could try them both out. While I prefer the smaller size of the WipeNote (Scrubby doesn't have that small) because I can stash it in my purse, as well as the resortable page feature, the Scrubby has features that make it better for me. First of all, it is waterproof. So if I'm making notes while gardening and my hands are wet (or I sprinkle it with the hose--oops), it's still fine. Second, writing that has been on longer, say even a day, comes off so much easier with the Scrubby. I also like being able to put the pen in the spine, rather than struggling to get it out of the attached pen holder with the WipeNote version. Also the clear covers are a good feature. I am able to slide something underneath and mark it up on the clear whiteboard to show someone without messing up the original item. My only suggestions to the makers: (1) please add a smaller "purse size" version (3x5"), (2) include a few grid pages for sketching something (e.g., to draw and note measurements when I go to the hardware store for something), and (3) more of the awesome artwork. I love that I'm saving trees and contributing to worthwhile causes by buying his product.

What I like about the book:- The pages are nice and thick and don't fold/bend easily.- The Staedtler corrector pens work well, and they are also easy to wipe.- The outside transparent cover is thick and stiff almost like a cardboard, which is great. I was worried about the outside cover and the pages getting crumpled up without a hard outer protection.What I dislike about the book:- The Staedtler pens are not completely smudge free on this paper even after they dry completely. It is difficult to use this book on the go in case you need to fold the book to write. The pen wipes off easily with even gentle finger touches.- The black band that comes with this book to help lock it together is cumbersome. Not only is it difficult to put on and off, but it is very easy to lose since it is not tethered to the book. The pen doesn't stay in place either without this black band.

I like being able to erase lines of my to-do lists rather than cross them out or checking them off. I also cut a couple of pages out of the book to use as single sheets and I cut one sheet in half for re-usable shopping lists. For shopping lists I use a permanent Sharpie and clean with alcohol so it doesn't rub off inside my purse or on my hands while transporting. Cutting the sheets does not have any negative effect since the sheets are not merely coated, but are the same material through & through. I also love that I can use permanent markers for things I want to stay put while using the erasable pen for the things I want to remove and replace on a regular basis.
