Great When it Works
I am 5'2'' and have a hard time on long flights since my legs don't reach the floor. I used this on my last trip, I had three flights to my destination, and three flights back. The first three flights the cushion inflated and deflated perfectly. It was really easy to blow-up and to deflate at the end of the flight. Unfortunately on the way back it handled the first flight fine, but definitely began to deflate (slowly) on the following two legs. This cushion is the perfect height and size but it does appear to have some issues staying inflated.

OK but a bit difficult to use on airplanes.
I am 5'1" so I took a 15 hour flight to South Africa and used the pillow to relieve pressure on my back, and it was helpful for that. The advantage is that it is inflatable so it does light and doe not take much space. The problem was not so much with the pillow as with the space on the floor of the airplane. Once I placed it, I did not have room for my shoes nor could I get up without getting if off the floor, and given the small space on the airplane, even that was a struggle.

was disappointed that the foot rest was not higher
was disappointed that the foot rest was not higher. it is only 4 inches high and was hoping for more of a lift for my feet. thought I would return it but decided to keep it as I didn't find anything that much higher and this seems to retain the air well. inflated it and it last 2 days without losing air.hope it helps when i fly to New Zealand.

Perfect for short flyers!
This footrest is perfect for those of us who fly and are "vertically challenged." When inflated, it allows me to sit comfortably in a coach class seat with my feet resting on it rather than having to slouch down to rest them on the floor. When deflated, it folds almost flat into my carry on, and hardly adds any weight. I am just under 5'1" if that helps you decide. But if you've ever struggled with where to put your feet to be comfortable on a long flight (do I try to rest my toes on my bag stowed under the seat? do I sit crosslegged in the seat? do I slump down? brace my feet on the seat in front of me?) you will find this foot rest a help!Just to clarify from other reviews, this is a simple footrest that has the same kind of air valve as a beach ball. You are the inflator - just blow it up and close the valve. It takes about the same amount of effort as a large beach ball. The soft vinyl cover seems pretty durable, and it has a flocked feel to it so sock feet do not slide around.Update, October 2015: I've now used this rest on multiple overseas flights and it is still going strong. No problems with staying inflated.

Helpful but cumbersome.
Rather cumbersome but still helpful. I traveled by train (a 17 hour trip) and it was just too much to mess with. At home or in an automobile it might be better. I can't see it being very practical for flying but I haven't tried it for that purpose.

Under Work Desk
This is fine for what I wanted. I ordered it to be under my desk at work. I wish it would blow up a little firmer and was just a tad larger.

Excellent, sturdy inflatable foot rest
I bought this inflatable foot rest to use on a flight from Dallas to Amsterdam, riding in an Economy Comfort seat. I'm 5'1", and long airline flights are uncomfortable for me because my feet don't quite reach the floor when I recline my seat so the circulation gets cut off behind my thighs. This footrest is great, and it makes a HUGE difference in my comfort level. It is very easy to inflate (you blow into a regular "beach-ball" style tube & then push a cap into the tube), and it stayed fully inflated throughout the flight. It's also easy to deflate and takes up very little space once deflated.I also used the foot rest during the week I was in Europe. I have a back condition and I sleep in an adjustable bed at home with my knees bent. While I was on vacation, I used a pillow placed over the foot rest in bed at night to keep my knees bent. The foot rest stayed fully inflated throughout my stay.

Do not purchase
This was the worst purchase I have ever made. The foot rest lasted for about 15 minutes--the plane had not even taken off before the seam split. I did not overinflate, because it was incredibly hard to inflate the root rest and get the stopper in without losing lots of air. For the return overseas flight, I purchased a beach ball from Jack Wills that was about $5 and was an amazing foot rest. The flight home was so comfortable. Don't buy this!
