This technique, which comes from studio microphones, prevents sound distortion and optimises speech recognition results. The specially designed hexagonal openings of the metal cover provide a three times larger open surface area than the previous model, ensuring crystal clear shots. Non-woven fabric above and below the microphone capsule filters out sound distortion such as pop or hissing sounds and allows perfect recording results even when dictating close to the microphone. The shutter release and control button on the back of the device are attached so that they can be easily reached with your fingers. The Philips SpeechMike Premium has an integrated motion sensor.
