the absolutely best microphone ever
I had been looking for a long time for a good microphone, if I am blogging a lot. I really did not like the headset mics, because they had to be just right and pick up my voice. This one is absolutely incredible! I am sitting about 8 inches away from the mic, and it still picks up flawlessly. I speak with German accent, so speech recognition has been somewhat challenging for me. This microphone is so:, that my speech is almost 100%recognized, compared to maybe (on a good day)to 60% with a headset. Yes, it is expensive; but you get what you pay for! The absolute best!!!! I would give it 10 stars if I could :-)

Works but if you have an issue with it do not count on ANY support from the manufacturer.
I purchased this microphone based on the reviews. The installation was easy and it appeared to work well with Dragon dictation for about a week. Then it provided distorted voice recording. I transferred the microphone to another computer and the same distortion was apparent so I was fairly sure the unit itself failed and not the software configuration. I contacted the manufacturer who did not not have a phone number listed. I created a ticket for the problem and waited for them to respond in the 1 business day they claimed on the website. After waiting 4 days and no response from the manufacturer I returned the unit to Amazon. The company does not have a telephone number listed for customer service. The unit was well built and performed very well for the first while but I will never use a product at this price where the manufacturer ignores its clients.Be wary of companies who sell products at this price point who do not list a customer service contact number!

This is easily one of the best purchases I've ever made
This is easily one of the best purchases I've ever made. As someone who works from home and is consistently on conference calls, it has been tough to find a microphone that will truly cancel out the air conditioner, dogs barking, roommates yelling.... This is the solution, and I plan on using it for a very long time. The mic only picks up audio if you are speaking directly into it. The design and build quality are both 10/10. I plugged it in and it works.Mac users, I highly recommend the app 'Shush'. The app allows you to turn your Fn key into a Push to Talk or Push to Silence button, and goes along great with a microphone like this one.

Two Stars
Had to return this mic. I spent more time correcting the errors than if I would of typed.

Buddy 7G Accuracy
I'm using the microphone right now to write this review. I own 2 different Buddy microphones. The 7G seems to be more accurate than the mini. I use a 7G less because it is the home like (should be "home mic"). Where (I) have my computer at home is much quieter than where I have it at work, and I find it is more accurate when I speak in more dulcet tones. Initially, I spoke louder and was less satisfied with the results. About (should be: I bought) the new Mike shortly after purchasing a new computer. The computer I purchased was from Micro Center. And it was a semi-custom-built. I included an upgraded sound card, however, I'm not sure if that makes any difference. Overall and (I am) very satisfied with the buddy desktop Mike 7G. (Should have read overall I am very satisfied…). To be absolutely fair, I have not done extensive training (on)this microphone and have not worked diligently to specifically to Taylor my profile on the setup. (should read: I have not done extensive training on this microphone and have not worked diligently to specifically tailor my profile on this set up") but I am certain that I have I would have invested you might of time that I have invested on my profile at work, the results would be much more satisfactory.(should have read, "but I am certain that if I would have invested the same amount of time that (I) high have on my work profile the results would be more satisfactory)I think I would have been better off to invest in a microphone without filtering for my own environment.(Should read: I think I would have been better off to invest in a microphone without filtering for my home environment),as it is absolutely silent except for my voice)You now have an unedited review, as spokenof the buddy 7G microphone as spoken through a 70 buddy microphone. Not overly impressed are you?I suppose if I enunciated more clearly, spoke more slowly, and took voice lessons, my results would be better. But, when speaking as one speaks to others, the results are as demonstrated above. I am speaking more slowly now and enunciating more carefully. And as you can see, the results are much more accurate.Even if I have to go back and correct, the ability to get ideas on paper before they evaporate is beneficial. Personally, I love the whole speech recognition thing. The semester before I took typing in high school, the typing wing burned down. So I spent my semester learning to type in the school library on a mimeographed sheet that displayed a keyboard… I have never recovered. I can now type naturally at about 15 words per minute with 8 mistakes.

Best table top microphone I have used so far
Best table top microphone I have used so far. The base is a bit fragile if you transport it, but you can adjust the gooseneck and it works well. I work in a moderately noisy environment and use voice recognition, and it does a decent but not perfect job at cancelling out background noise

Great Microphone for Dragon Naturally Speaking 12
Although Nuance has not tested or approved this model, it works flawlessly for me. I have it set up on the far side of my keyboard with the base far enough away that the arm and microphone do not interfere with my view of my computer screen (actually, I have a three screen set up, and the microphone does not interfere with my view of any of the three screens). With this microphone, I can either tell Dragon to "go to sleep" or, if someone walks in or calls me on the intercom, I can push the button on the base which instantly mutes the microphone (which avoids the confusion to the visitor or caller when they think you are telling them to go to sleep).I highly recommend that Nuance test the Buddy DesktopMic 7G and certify it for use with Dragon.
