Hiking to the top of a mountain at 4 am - not so much. The measurements are all in the description, but I guarantee this will be larger than you expect. However, for video, panheads just aren't the best way to go. Thanks.** A: Short answer, Yes. This tripod is strong enough to handle any 35mm format camera and lens combo (less than 20lbs of total weight). If you’re using a lens that weighs more than the camera body you should use a lens mount to the tripod head to prevent the mounting ring on the camera body from bending or warping. Also, at a rating of almost 20lbs, this tripod should work for any medium format camera and many large format cameras as well! **Q: will this work with a spotting scope or is it set up primarily for cameras??** A: “In General” spotting scopes and cameras (film SLR, DSLR, mirrorless, video...) use a standard 1/4 inch attachment that is on almost all (haven’t seen one that doesn’t) tripod heads.
