Great band and this CD has all of the great oldies! I still have the LP!

of this band - bar none. The only other one that comes close is the 'Will the Circle Be Unbroken - Farther Along" DVD. Though that one has Jimmy Ibbotson as a regular member not as a guest and this one has more of just the Dirt Band doing their numbers than the Farther Along with its plethora of guests covering songs. I would say get them both together as a good representation of what these musical legends were made of back then and now. That is, if you can still find them at a reasonable price!

The absolute best of the three 50th anniversary NGDB releases, this live-in-concert two-disc cd/dvd set was recorded & filmed at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. How appropriate, yes? When the band was made up of a group of young long-haired, furry-faced hippie-types all those years ago, they came to Nashville to celebrate and bring together (at that time a seemingly impossible task) the old guard & the new. A music miracle of sorts, it all worked out wonderfully well; the result being the wildly successful (artistically, critically, commercially) and still much-revered classic, "Will The Circle Be Unbroken?" The band bridged the generation gap, opened the doors for others to follow, and staked its reputation on that tremendous break-through. Now, four decades and two "Circle" sequels on, they're the established elder statesmen and they're back at the Ryman to celebrate the incredible NGDB journey. And what a celebration it is! Guests from along their musical history include former member Jimmy Ibbotson (Ibby's back!), Jackson Browne, Jerry Jeff Walker, Rodney Crowell, John Prine, Alison Krauss, Vince Gill, among many others. But it's the Dirt Band's show and, as always, they deliver the musical goods. Highly recommended.

Get it now while it's still available for anything less than hundreds of dollars! I just saw the last "Circle" DVD, entitled, "Farther Along", selling for that much, even used! Getting the CD/DVD combo ("Amazon exclusive") is totally the way to go. I can't praise this product highly enough. "Farther Along", their last go-around, is wonderful (if you have the opportunity to listen to/view it), and this time around, they actually managed to outdo themselves! Not only is this a cultural masterpiece, but the performances are stellar; if you are a musician or a serious listener, you will truly appreciate (and be floored by) the level of talent here. It just doesn't get any better than this. Also, the sound and video are superb throughout. They leave little if anything to be desired. As I am certain that other reviewers have perceptively noted, unlike so many other concert DVDs where the camera is jumping all over the place (and often not on the musicians), on this one they got it right. You see and hear it all, just as though you were front and center in the theater, and oh what an experience it is! Absolutely jaw dropping. If you have any deep appreciation for "roots" music, pick this up as fast as you can. You won't regret it!

I bought this CD to replace one that was in my husband's truck when it was stolen😢. It's a very rare CD and I was so glad to find a really good used one here on Amazon! Hooray!

I love the band and CD. The DVD would only allow me to play it once. Tried a different dvd player and that did not work either. It will play on my pc but that is a pretty small screen.

The fourth (and final?) instalment of the "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" series is a fitting summary of the band's roots/old time country endevours. I love it, as I did the others in the series, and this one also comes with a DVD that shows the concert where it was recorded. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and I have been on a 45 year journey through the songs and artists who made country musio. I've been waiting for this one for years. They started recording with the greats, and now the band is numbered amongst them.

Only problem USPS threw something on this and cracked jewel case in two places. CD was undamaged

Unsere Freunde von der NGDB haben mal wieder Freunde eingeladen zu einem Live-Konzert eingeladen, um das 50. Jubiläum ihres Musikmeilensteines "Will the Circle be Unbroken" im September 2015 im Ryman, Nashville TN zu feiern. Und diese Feier ist Ihnen ganz toll gelungen.Wenn ich mal überschlägig rechne, sind die Jungs alle in den Siebzigern, aber das merkt man an keiner Stelle.Wer Country / Bluegrass / Americana mit vorwiegend akustischen Instrumenten mag, die noch dazu dazu virituos gespielt werden, kommt hier voll auf seine Kosten. Hier sind wirkliche Meister am Werk und es gibt viele tolle Soli von allen Instrumenten, sei es nur Dobro / Mundharmonika / Mandoline / Kontrabass / Fiddle / Banjo.Die Anzahl der musikalischen Gäste ist dieses Mal etwas geringer als bei dem letzten "Will the circle be unbroken"-Treffen zum 40-jährigem Jubiläum.Besonders erwähnen möchte ich hier die "String Wizards" Sam Bush und Jerry Douglas an Mandoline und Dobro - ihre Beträge sind wirklich ein "Ohrenschmaus"Alison Kraus liefert eine ganz tolle Gastperformance von 'Keep on the sunny side'Rodney Crowell, John Prine, Vince Gill und Jackson Browne sagen auch Hallo mit jeweils 2 Songs16 tolle Lieder, live dargeboten auf einer randvollen CD - was will man mehr!!!!!

Recomiendo este "cede" a todo el que se inicie en la música "country".Todo un disco jovial y festivo, un "cede" fresco y alegre como la misma música que representa,unos intérpretes experimentados y en estado de gracia.Como digo una pequeña joyita para los aficionados a este tipo de música que no dejará indiferente a nadie,entendido o no.Altamente recomendable.

Sono felicissima di aver acquistato questo cd che raccoglie dei pezzi meravigliosi, eseguiti live in modo magistrale.Consigliato vivamente a chiunque sia appassionatao di bluegrass in tutte le sue sfumature.

Un très bon anniversaire pour un groupe majeur de la musique américaine. A posséder par les amateurs de très bonne country. Incontournable.
