Completely refreshed my perspective on marketing
I never write Amazon reviews but people need to know how good this book is.As someone who’s not an avid reader and quickly loses interest in books, I finished this in 2 days and I’ll absolutely be reading it again.I work as a marketer full time running Facebook ads. Being that I spend so much time in Ads Manager, it’s easy to get lost in the weeds of bids, targeting, campaign structure, etc. This book was the antidote to that.It was a refreshing reminder of the fundamentals of what makes marketing work in the first place, regardless of what medium or platform you’re using - namely, having a DEEP understanding of your end customer. The way he gives real life stories of his experience in political marketing to set up the concept he is teaching in a given chapter created a perfect eb and flow that made it such an easy read.Whether you’re just getting into marketing, or you do it full time, there’s no way you wont find value in this.

If you’re an entrepreneur read this book to learn to wisely spend your marketing dollars.
Finished this book in one week and wow, I loved it! I’ve already suggested it to many friends and have implemented many of the strategies in my own businesses. Here are some of my many takeaways:1. Your marketing agency should work themselves out of a job"The mission of your marketing agency shouldn't only be to spend your money building a new customer base forever. It should also be to build loyalty. In fact, it should be every marketer's goal to work themselves out of a job. They should want your company to have such a loyal demand and such crazy, raving fans that you don't even need your marketing firm anymore.”2. Comparatising...AKA "Going negative""When you're comparatising, you're not screaming until you're blue in the face about how terrible your competitors are. You're letting your audience come to their own conclusions. That way, they feel more ownership over their choices."For example: “Still buying your clothes from a shoe company? Just don’t do it.”3. Each company needs a unique marketing strategy, but the steps to build this strategy are the same for all companies.“Some people respond to social media advertising, while others gravitate toward television ads or even direct mail. Your marketing goal shouldn’t be to use as many tactics as possible to reach as many people as possible. It should be to use the right tactics to read the right people in the way they want to receive them.”If you’re an entrepreneur read this book to learn to wisely spend your marketing dollars. If you’re a manager read this book to help lead your marketing team and to wisely spend your marketing dollars. And throw away that old saying, “Half of all marketing dollars are a complete waste. The only trouble is… I don’t know which half.”If you’ve read many marketing and business books in the past then read this book to learn the formula that is getting politicians elected and helping companies compete in a crowded market where consumers are viewing 10,000+ ads per day.Enjoy!

Worth the read
I own my own marketing firm and this was one of the best books. Glad mike Dillard sent out a recommendation for it. I found it a little interesting that the 1 star reviews kept focusing on their own political agenda trying to sabotage the ratings but if you're a business owner and want the step by step on how to build an super successful business, this will not only help you understand the basics but also challenge your mind into thinking of alternative solutions . Phillip Stutts has definitely gained a new fan
