Flavor profile is just sweet & uses sucralose
Metabolic Nutrition's Whey Protein in Birthday Cake is just ok. The birthday cake flavor is intensely sweet due to the sucralose and acesulfame potassium sweeteners. The cake flavoring is barely detectable so the flavor profile is just "sweet". This product proudly states that it is low carb and the nutrition label states zero carbs. However, it does use a stabilizer blend of three different gums that are all carb sources. The powder does require effort to dissolve, even in warm water. It does not dissolve instantly even though the directions state it does. I recommend using a shaker bottle and ice to help break up clumps. The price is higher than most other whey proteins. Personally, at about two dollars per servings, I do not think it is worth the price. I have found better tasting powders for about half the price point.

Chemical taste & no scooper
I’ve bought this product before and never had an issue. This batch tastes like chemicals and is missing the scooper. No returns so I guess I am screwed Time to find a new protein

Hesitated, but glad I went forward
I initially hesitated selecting this product because of some of the reviews I read online, but I decided to try it for myself and give an honest critique. I'm glad I did. The taste isn't the best I've ever had, but I would still rate it as a 4 out of 5 stars. As far as value goes, this product right now does cost more per ounce than similar whey protein powders. I had to compare per ounce, because they are different sizes. The ingredients seem to be good quality and it mixes exceptionally well in a shaker bottle. That's probably the most important thing for me since I use a shaker bottle 99% of the time to drink supplements like this. There's no lumpy texture or lack of mixing which I have had happen to me in the past with other brands. If you're looking for a decent protein shake for weight loss or just increasing your protein intake, this might be worth a try. The birthday cake flavor was unexpectedly good.
