Dry malt extract, 3lbs, sparkling Amber.

Review: Great in coffee, hot chocolate or carob drinks - I love the flavor of malt in cocoa or coffee drinks. I mix up cocoa powder, malt powder, and either organic sugar or sucanat and keep it in a well sealed jar, then add a heaping teaspoon to my coffee. I prefer the darker malt if I can find it, but any malt extract works, and this was a good price. Just make sure to keep it sealed up or it absorbs moisture from the air and becomes very sticky. I either re-seal the bag with packing tape or pour it all into jars with tight fitting lids and a couple desiccant packets.
Review: Briess is Quality - Very good DME. Use it in most of my recipes for additional body. Unless you're the kind that likes to brew Bud "lager" clones. Stick to your rice syrup solids and leave the real beer to real brewers ;)

i add an extra pound of DME to my beer kits. This raises the specific gravity enough, so I get a half gallon more beer. Otherwise, the so-called 5 gallon kit is really 4.5 gallons and subsequent calculations for the priming sugar are mostly guesswork.
