One of the three lights died. I am not sure at this point whether it is the battery pack or the electronics. It would simply not charge at all. Its solar panel works fine, I connected another head from a less traveled area to this panel and it works OK. Will investigate further to see what is wrong with the failed head. If it is just the battery pack that is a relatively easy fix.UPDATED after two years, five lights total, running strong, increased rating from 4 stars to five. They stay charged even on cloudy winter days. No problems whatsoever. All solar panels attached to the roof exposed to elements. I will be adding two more to my mom's house.ORIGINAL REVIEWThis is a preliminary review. Nicely built light, with good heat dissipation. The heads can turn almost in 90 degrees in each direction from neutral position. The motion sensor can also be turned left-right about 120 degrees. Vizually pleasing design. The light heads have six small LCDs in them each and deliver light equivalent on average to about a 40W incandescent, at best 60W when fully charged, the two heads together. Each head shines light at about 90 degrees very evenly, so the two can cover a wide area and still have good overlap in between. Some other lights here on Amazon will give you two narrow beams with a darker area in between. The light color is equal to about 4000K, so not too yellow, not too blue, just right. Solar panel is sandwiched into a plastic housing that looks OK. The panel can only be adjusted up and down, but not side-to-side, so you will have to be creative if your mounting surface is not at the angle you want your light to face, you may need to mount on a wedge in between.Preliminary tests. The battery pack is a 3x NiMh 2000mA 1.5V AA cell shrink wrapped together and connecting to the light with a small standard two-prone plastic plug. There are many battery packs here on Amazon for wireless phones that would work just fine for 5-8 USD. I fully charged the battery, set the light to longest duration and kept triggering it non-stop. It was able to deliver strong light for 75 minutes and then started to slowly fade away for another 15 minutes. When the battery was almost depleted the light started to flicker, switching off for 2-3 seconds and then giving a strong strobe-like flash, then off for another few seconds and another strobe flash. That is not how I would do it, but hopefully it will be able to keep itself recharged.Subsequently I completely depleted the battery for over three days, periodically switching the light on and triggering it until it died. After three days it would not come on at all. I took it out in Wisconsin sunny winter day, -10 Celsius temperature and let it sit in the sun pointing south for 5 hours, making no adjustment to the solar panel. I took the light back and was able to get 35 minutes of strong light and another 10 minutes of fading away light (keep in mind that the light was at -10C, so the batteries must have been cold inside).The sensitivity to motion is great and it is pretty wide, I would estimate 160 degrees, no complaints. You can also set the ambient light level at which the light starts working. That can be set from total darkness to bright day light and anything in between, no complaints. Another nice thing is the watertight connection between the battery and the panel. The plug is very difficult to plug and disconnect, but it looks like it will not leak.Now the bad - out of two lights one died the second day - the timer that adjust how long the light stays on stopped working. No matter where I turned the nob the light would only stay on for 5 seconds. I sent that light back, but am getting a replacement.Will update in few month, curious how well they will hold exposed to elements.UPDATED two month later.I ended up buying three total. All remained functional after two month exposed to snow/rain in near freezing temperatures. Having half cloudy and half sunny winter days the lights were able to recharge just fine and stay on in heavy traffic areas, even though the solar panels are on east side of the roof, so only get sun half of the day. The solar panels produce 10.3 Volt in full sunshine and 9.5 Volt on cloudy day, however do not charge them from a power supply at 9 Volt, the batteries overheat badly. Even at 6 Volt they overheat. I believe there is no overcharge protection built in, the solar panel simply does not generate too much current even at max output to overheat or overcharge the battery pack. So if you want a battery backup from a power supply, don't use a powerful one. 250 mA at 6 Volt seems to work fine. I was just experimenting really and don't intend to actually run cords to these lights. The motion sensor is a bit too sensitive and a cat or dog will trigger the light. Eventually they learn to walk a bit further away if they don't like to be blinded. I will have to see if this happens as weather warms up and the cat/dog body heat signature fades away compared to its surrounding.I really like these lights and will be buying three more for the other side of my house. If not for the one that failed me I would give them 5 stars. ### ⭐ Looks great. Terrible functionality. *by C***D on Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2015* OK, I'm not a testing lab, so consider me some guy who wanted a simple security light and opted for this. I took the time to install the solar panel on my roof (realized I needed a MAXSA extension cable, which I added) and mounted the light on a block of wood to attach above my garage doors. All of this took time and effort. The light came onβ€”great! And the solar panel does charge the battery (no testing as to how long the charge lasts, but initially, good marks). Then I discovered that the light would not go off in the dark nor would it come on with anything crossing the beamβ€”or, at its whim, it would come on with no more than a breeze whispering by and would not go off. The controls are so poorly designed and placed that you cannot control the functions if they do work, so essentially it became no more than a permanently mounted lawn light. The controls are tiny bumps you are supposed to slide one way or the other, but so small a man's fingers have a hard time finding them. Further, the functions are indicated by illegible raised letters in the same color plastic as the mount (one control was incorrectly marked and did not agree with the instructions). You find yourself using a magnifying glass and moving the tiny switches to one setting, changing the setting and seeing if there is a difference . . . and then on an on, only to discover you will never get the results you want. I confess I did not return the light to the company, which may have replaced it, but it was already installed, so taking it down, boxing, and mailing it was counterproductive, so I trashed the whole thing.
