Grape Solar GS-PWM-40BT 40 Amp PWM Solar Charge Controller with Remote Monitoring

This controller comes with set charge limits and other parameters and YOU CANNOT CHANGE THEM. I gave this a very good rating, but after exchanging several emails with the tech at Grape Solar, I am changing my rating. The boost charge is very high and you cannot lower it. I don't know if it is high enough to damage the batteries in the system, but it is higher then the recommended voltage for a lead acid battery. I was first told by Grape Solar that I could change the settings to raise or lower the charge settings by using the app, so I downloaded the app and attempted to change the settings, but was then told that they could not be changed. This controller must have be produced for a specific application and I don't think they were made for general use. You can go to Grape Solar's web site and download a PDF of the manual. Make sure you read it before ordering this controller. I was looking at the voltage it displays from the panel and it displays 14.5 and then 21.6 and instantly back to 14.5 and changes every second, which is impossible. That is just one of the defects I have found in this unit. Buying it was a big mistake.

This appears to be a basic 40AMP charge controller but really is much more advanced than it looks. Works great as a basic charge controller but when you get the app it makes all the difference. You have to email the company to get the bluetooth app which works great on my android. This app has features and capabilities I would expect from a charge controller costing well over $100, with the ability to adjust charging and load parameters as well as viewing data logs to see how much power you have made on any particular day. The ability to remotely (within bluetooth range) monitor battery power and solar output alone is worth it.

After what appeared to be a good start things started coming undone quickly.Battery charge levels, input levels and amp levels all were well below where they should have been while the batteries continued to discharge.Had loads of power available but the CC wouldn't put it in the batteries.Re-installed my old Renogy 30 amp CC and all is well.....this has gotten to be very aggrivating having to return so many sub standard products from Amazon....it appears quality is a thing of the past.

I use this to run my 2 100w Grape solar panels and charge my Group 27 Deep Cycle battery. While I have't gotten into a lot of the settings (ie the bluetooth connectivity) this controller does a great job and mounted cleanly out of the way. What I love about this controller is the value; it does what higher priced controllers do at a fraction of the price... LOVE SAVING MONEY!

I ordered this charge controller 07-25-16 and received it two days later. Thought I had problem with it and contacted customer service at Grape Solar. They were great to work with. Turned out to be a wiring mistake that I made. I would definitely purchase their products again. The controller is working perfectly.

Works great, I only have 2 - 150 watt panels on my RV charging 4 big batteries. It is nice to see what is going on with the charge rate and load consumption. Easy to hook up and set up, would highly recommend to anyone.

Does everything it is advertised to do. Could not connect using an older Android device and contacted customer service. They advised that we needed a newer version of OS. With new device, everything works. Amazing stats available via blue-tooth connection.

This is very cool, I'm able to use blue tooth on the iOS app to finally see my battery/solar/load/etc without having to walk up and try to read it from the device.

I'm with the other guy that said it was ok at first, then it wouldn't put charge to the batteries and the battery continued to discharge. Maybe they sent me that guys defective unit after he returned it? lolSave your money, this item is a waste of time.

Kept giving the wrong amp reading. It Was showing that it was only running at 11 when it was actually over 14
