Anyone who’s ever gotten a flimsy fork with their takeout or wished they had fork and knife on a picnic will appreciate the OXO Good Grips Prep & Go Stainless Steel Utensils Set with Case. The set comes with a full-sized fork, knife and spoon—all made of sturdy stainless steel. The pieces also nest neatly in their compact carrying case, so that you can just slip the whole thing into a bag or pocket. Bonus: This set replaces single-use plastic utensils, too. Dishwasher safe.

Regardless of that process that I repeated for 10 days out a 12-day activation - we decided to figure out what the offending item was on the second day, and I never needed to be stopped again after that - I am an extremely happy owner of this very thoughtfully-designed OXO product. I sometimes have modelling activations that go 12+ hours, and I hated having to remember to pack silverware every time I chose to pack a meal, and then needing to keep the silverware somehow isolated from everything else after usage to avoid getting anything dirty and ensure that the sharp points and edges weren't able to harm anything around it. While I've never forgotten to bring silverware, there have been too many occasions where it was a last-minute jolt of memory as I was heading out of the door, and I was not in favor of that minor backtrack becoming habitual. I checked out options at several local places between upscale home and digital nomad+outdoorsy stores, but most offerings were more camp-oriented and therefore not exactly appealing in form and appearance, plus they did not help with automatically keeping anything around the utensils clean and free of potential damage. At some point, I turned to OXO to see if an option existed among their products and found this gem. Not available in any local store, and no local options were worth considering in comparison, so an order it was. Arrived just in time for a 12-day activation. Sturdy hinged case that stays firmly closed yet still opens with ease, protecting the utensils perfectly. Decently lightweight without sacrificing weight for the form, function, or appearance of each piece. The utensils themselves handled well and would blend in at a dinner table far better than current competing options on the market. Bonus points for this being created in my favorite color. I rarely need a knife for a packed meal, so I typically leave the knife at home, which makes the case rattle a bit more due to the unused space. I always pack both the spoon and the fork just in case, and ended up helping a teammate who was scrambling for utensils at one point as result, so yay for automatic preparedness. I can see this remaining a part of my travel kit until OXO decides to upgrade it somehow. In the meantime, this sits atop my several HydroFlask meal containers, so I never need a reminder to pack silverware again.

**Q: My kid lost the fork. Can I buy another set without the case?**
A: Probably not since its a set. Walmart carries individual flatware - just a thought

**Q: Is the knife serrated or is it smooth like a butter knife?**
A: It’s the type you would get in a normal place setting; it’s not smooth but does have little teeth. It’s not as smooth as a butter knife.

**Q: What is the length of the fork?**
A: It’s regular knife, fork and spoon length. Just like your regular flatware/silverware.

**Q: I want to buy this for a kid and remove the knife. Will the spoon and fork rattle in the case if you take the knife out?**
A: Unfortunately, yes I do think it would rattle around a little without the knife. Not terribly so, but there would be the possibility of more up and down travel within the case without the knife taking up a little space in the stack.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best traveling utensil set

I've had this traveling utensil kit for several years. They are great in size and quality. The scoop part of the spoon is in the middle between a full sized dinner spoon and a small desert spoon. The fork is also medium sized on the tines between a home dinner and desert fork. The knife also does a good job cutting through meats like a porkchop. These are so great I've purchased extra sets for when I don't have time to wash them between shifts and as gifts for others who also pack their own meals. They do well being handwashed or through the dishwasher.
