Works with existing roof quite nicely
I bought a pack of 24 for my home garage roof edge which has cracks already and work out well. The top end of the dry verge can be carefully inserted underneath the slate by using a flat head screw driver to gently lift the slate for the insertion. The challenge is how to deal with the metal clippers of the original roof. In the end, I found an easy way to do it - to saw a thin-cut in the position of the metal clippers so that they can be easily fitted into the vergers. This also have the benefit to further strengthen the verge with the metal clippers. There is no need to remove the existing mortar as said in the instructions. As these verges are made of PVC-U material, I would believe that they would last for decades.
