Can you refill it with .5 or .7 ink? Is it a standard size?

Yes should work with Uni ballpoint refills (that have the plastic ring at the bottom)

Has anyone been able to open the transparent pen for a refill? I'm having a lot of difficulty.

I didn’t know you get could refills for this pen. I haven’t used it all but it’s getting close. I figured I would have to replace the entire pen.

Is this pen available in other ink colors?

Not this one specifically. However if you browse for similar products just by a different brand you'll find there are some that do have a variety in ink colors. However the most common are red black blue and green.

Where is this made? Is this made in Japan?

JetStream is a subsidy of the Mitsubishi Pen Company. Definitely Made in Japan.
