A "1/2 inch galvanized pipe" is measured by the inside diameter. The OD (Outside Diameter) of a galvanized "1/2" inch pipe is about 0.840 inches, so NOPE! "1/2 inch" CPVC and 1/2 inch copper is about 0.625 (5/8). This is for a 0.500 (1/2) OD tube which has usually got a 7/16 ID. Like a tub chrome plated brass supply tube. **Q: Can you use with PEX?** A: I don't think so.
