BLACK+DECKER Window Air Conditioner 12000 BTU, BD12WT6, White

We have had swamp cooler units in the past with a hose that cost a lot more than this one. We thought they were average with cooling and the hoses always failed and created issues. We tried this unit and it has been fantastic. It cools most of the 1000 sq foot first floor and even cools the 1000 sq ft basement when we turn the fan on the furnace. I am so grateful for this unit because I is saving us from spending 10K to put in central air in our home. THANK YOU for making and selling a terrific product.

Works great, fairly simple set up. Good value for the price.

Draws a lot of amps when turned on, but my wiring is from the 60's. So don't have alot of things powered on in older construction. Have it operating in a 12 ft by 12 ft room and set for 68 degrees on cool,low fan (to keep the noise down) and on eco it keeps the room cold in 90 + heat outside. Had to mount it in a side slide windows because it doesn't fit my up and down windows. Made an insert out of the box it came in till I can fabricate something better. Looks ghetto but it works lol

It’s a bit noisy but works strong! It cools my entire room, be it also cools my entire apartment when I leave the bedroom door open.

5stars for how well this works, iy is keeping the laundry room/kitchen area cool like shoud be happening. Because some complained of dents in the AC I will say this....our unit has a dent in the grating on the side however because there is no damage to the box this damage occurred at the factory thus the seller is most likely not to blame. So, knocking his review down a star is not fair....if your read this then the review scanners have agreed this is acceptable info for all customers! We were given a date when purchased of only 3 days delivery but the shipper gave a different date of a week later which dismayed us considering this was needed during the 100* weather the midwest was dealing with. Thankfully the item was delivered a few days sooner. Just in time for the cooler weather. But it was easy to install. My husband did the work by himself & all is happy. Especially the dog because his crate is in the laundry room!!

We've had this for 2 summers now in our large, upper floor master bedroom of a very old house. We got a unit this big because we like to sleep cool and our bedroom is notoriously warm. The first summer with it, it seemed to cool slightly less than expected but it could not keep up with humidity. Other bedrooms (slightly smaller) used 5k BTU off brand units that seem to do better. This thing felt like we needed to run a dehumidifier separately to make it tolerable in the room We're now in year two and it cannot seem to keep up with a 300 sq ft room. It is constantly muggy in our room even with this thing running all out. It's also grown tons of mold in the blower vents, probably due to the high humidity in our room. Maybe ours is a lemon, but a 12k BTU unit should be able to keep up with a room of this size and this one can't
