Hammerite 5084783 Metal Paint: Hammered Silver 400ml (Aerosol)
W**.
Upcycling success.
Ordered and received same day. Easy to apply, didn't spend a lot of time preparing the old brazier I found at the back of the garden, just brushed off loose dirt and rust and sprayed. After weeks of torrential rain and the hottest June day ever, still looks good as when I painted it.Word of caution - don't spray outside even in the slightest breeze, unless you want painted grass, plants and/ or walls.I was impressed by my silver weeds, though!

Great spray
Used it to spray paint a gear shift lever for the motorbike in quite cold outdoor conditions. Used about 3 coats and left it 15mins between each coat. Left it to dry for a few hours indoors which was enough to not destroy the paint but I'd recommend leaving it overnight as it was still quite soft. Came out lovely and the paint is still going strong after riding the motorbike a fair few journeys. Make sure to wear a protective mask and use outdoors, this stuff is deadly to your lungs.

It's magic
I can never get over just how good Hammerite is. I've used it a lotover the years as I tend not to look after metal things too well. It has resurrected metal garden furniture. for me many times over and it's so easy to use. I do not exaggerate when I say that having sprayed or paint- brushed it onto rusty old garden stuff destined for the tip, the finish is even better than when new and it lasts a and lasts. It now even comes in different colours. A pot or spray can of this belongs on every garage or shed shelf along with the WD40.

Great finish
Great finish, this colour is really good for steel wheels, not too silvery if you know what I mean. More of a bright silver/grey. Easy to apply, aerosol works well, didn't block even after leaving it for a couple of weeks. It has a light hammered effect which is great for "disguising" small blemishes. Only word of caution/disadvantage...it takes ages to harden, yes it is touch dry in a few hours but if you apply a couple of decent coats on the same day it can take over a week or more to fully harden. So if you need to use the item same day or next forget any rough handling etc. I can forgive it for this as the finish is great. Also to note overspray is "heavy" best shoes are now speckled with silver!

Surprisingly Good and Easy To Use
Bought a 400ml hammerite aerosol hammered finish to refurbish a set of corroded tired steel wheels on my van. Spend a couple of hours preparing them with a drill wire wheel, DA sander and 800 wet n dry. Applied 2 coats of 1k aerosol primer, left for 30 minutes and then applied a 3/4 first coat of the Hammerite followed by 2 full coats.l, 400ml was just enough. Have to say they came out really well even my wife commented and she wouldn’t really notice things like that. Easy to use but allow 15 mins between coats and really the temperature should 15c or above. I do have a car body repair background from many many years ago, so do know what I’m doing, but the key is preparation and allowing time between coats. Generally it would coat around £90-£100 per wheel to have them professional refurbed. I spend about £20 on paint and materials and half a day of my time. Bargain!
