These were just the right size to use in a box trailer to facilitate ratchet straps for holding cargo to the walls. The spars in the walls of the cargo trailer are easily drilled with a #7 bit and then tapped to 1/4" - 20 TPI threads. Then 1/4" bolts can fasten these to the walls through the two 1/4" round mounting holes. The 1/4" thick "D" ring has a large enough opening for even the largest ratchet straps to hook to.
