Does what it says
Jump started my sauerkraut culture. People say technically you don't need this and I think it's too expensive but I tried it anyway and it did speed things up.

They work just fine. Though not necessary
They work just fine. Though not necessary, these cultures give a good boost to a ferment and speed the process along. I use about half as much as recommended and get good results. Dropped one star only because of the high price.

item unsafe, of unknown origin
product is of unknown origin. the instruction page is a photocopy of the actual cutting edge c cultures page. I tried to return this item, amazon won't let me. so, I'm leaving this review hoping no one else buys this because it's of unknown origin and non returnable. I'm not going to wrestle w/some AI chat to further attempt to return. DO NOT BUY OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN.

Cutting edge
didn't do what I needed, Make sure to understand exactly how much and where and when and how to activate properly. My sister knows how to do this much better than me.
