Boeing Unified 787-8 Dreamliner 1:200 Model

I recently purchased the Boeing 787 model, and overall, I’m very pleased with it. The level of detail and craftsmanship is impressive, and it makes for a fantastic addition to my collection. However, I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 due to some issues with the stand. Here’s a detailed breakdown of my experience: Incredible Detail and Design First off, the plane model itself is absolutely stunning. The colors are vibrant, the decals are sharp, and the overall design is true to the real Boeing 787. The fuselage is sleek, and you can see the care that went into recreating this iconic aircraft. It’s definitely a beautiful display piece for any aviation enthusiast. The wings are well-formed, and the overall scale is just right for displaying on a shelf or desk. Sturdy Build (Except for the Stand) The body of the model feels solid and well-constructed. The weight is balanced, and the materials used for the plane itself give it a premium feel. The craftsmanship in the details like the engines and tail section really stand out. This is clearly a model built for display, and when it’s on display, it looks impressive. Issue with the Stand The reason I’m knocking off a star is due to the stand. The concept is great—it’s designed to hold the plane at an angle, so it looks like it’s in flight—but the holes where the screws are supposed to go weren’t properly lined up. I ran into issues where the screws couldn’t fit properly, which made the stand flimsy and unstable. It didn’t give me much confidence that the model would stay securely mounted. DIY Fix Required Fortunately, I was able to resolve the issue myself by carefully making the holes a bit larger so the screws would align properly. It took a little extra effort and a bit of patience, but after that, the stand held up just fine. However, it would have been nice if the manufacturer had ensured the holes were drilled correctly from the start to avoid this extra step. Overall Impressions Once the stand was adjusted, the model was absolutely fine, and it now holds up securely without any issues. While the stand could definitely use some quality control to prevent this kind of problem, the plane itself is fantastic. If you're handy with a screwdriver and don’t mind making a minor fix, this model is still well worth the purchase. It’s a beautiful piece that looks great on display. Final Thoughts In the end, I’m very happy with my Boeing 787 model. The attention to detail and design of the plane itself is exceptional, and once I fixed the stand, everything was perfect. I would highly recommend this model to fellow aviation fans, but just be aware that you might need to do a bit of work to get the stand right. It’s a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things, but it’s worth considering before you purchase.

This was a gift for my nephew. Only issue was the front landing gear does not fit.
