If you like this kind of thing...
Superb story, great characters and very funny in parts. This series has really grown no me. It's pretty twisted in parts though, so be warned!

A page turner!
Another fine case investigated by detective Logan Macrae. A page turner, I could not stop reading and finished it in two days. Great dark humour throughout the whole book.10/10 would recommend!

Je n'ai donc pas reçu le livre et n'ai pas écouté le CD. Je serai par contre intéressé de recevoir le livre en format papier (broché).

Flesh House - Stuart MacBride
The 4th DS Logan McRae novel is set in November - and it's raining again in Aberdeen. The characters are well developed now and MacBride gives them bad habits and realistic dialogue that just brings them to life off the page. The novel starts in 1987 and these events leading to a former arrest tie in with familiar police characters of the present, reviewing the former case to give clues with a current investigation.I found "Flesh House" to have more graphic detail of the violent acts than previous novels. Colin Miller being forced to eat his own fingers stayed with me for a while! - and there are a lot of scenes that I found "grisly" - but are brilliantly conveyed to the reader. The plot centres around the catching of a Sweeney Todd like character when joints of meat found in a container are not animal but human. As in the previous novels, the dark humour provides the right amount of relief. I laughed on several occasions, even after a sad or gruesome part.MacBride has added newspaper cuttings to this edition, I thought this added a sense of realism to the plot.I can't wait for number 5 in the series.

A Chunky Tasty Thriller!
**Should Read as 4.5 Stars!**This action-packed crime novel is the 4th volume of the great "Logan McRae" series.Storytelling is excellent, the story very well structured and executed, and all characters featuring in this crime story are believable and lifelike in their dealings with life and work. This thriller is again set in Aberdeen, Scotland, and we find DS Logan McRae in action to find a serial killer acting as a butcher, slaughtering people by the dozens. With both DI Insch and DI Steel as his superiors, the first one will lose his temper and his way by holding on to Ken Wiseman as the killer and ultimately paying the price for it professionally and personally, while Di Steel will only manage some minor results.Other professional help will come in the form of Chief Constable Faulds of West Midlands Police for his experience on the case, and ex-lover WPC Jackie Watson who's now at Strathclyde Police for support when confronting the real serial killer. While DS Logan McRae will get to the bottom of this case until the final confrontation, in which several more bodies will fall towards their sad dreadful end. What is to follow is a fast-paced and gripping crime story, consisting a sub-plot for one murder and the real plot towards unfolding the real Flesher and this person's killing habit.Very much recommended, for this is another terrific addition to this great series, and that's why I like to call this 4th episode: "A Chunky Tasty Thriller"!
