LEGOIdeas Yellow Submarine (21306) - Building Toy and Popular Gift for Fans of LEGO Sets and The Beatles (553 Pieces)

This is a really neat construction. It assembles quickly, and the only issue I had with it was the red railing offering some difficulty assembling. You get five figures, one in each bag of parts, so they're easy to assemble. The inside of the sub is interestingly detailed and faithful to the movie as far as style is concerned. The top does come off to reveal this compartment, but it is a very tight fit and will take some work to get it in place. The box is worth keeping as are the instructions. Because it is Lego, the replica isn't perfect, but it looks great!! Caution to chldren as there are severl EXTREMELY small pieces. No decals are used. The detail on the figures is solid, and each head has two expressions.The Jeremy figure is a bit on the lame side, but they did the best job possible. The propellers do turn. The periscopes move. A secret compartment exists near the tail to hold all the little goodies the characters hold...as seen at the end of the movie. There is a good solid feel to this kit, but it may be a little smaller than you'd expect.

I bought this for myself I cannot lie. I did have to have one of my grandsons assemble it. I’m a Beatles gal from way back so this was perfect for me and fun to assemble for my grandsons.

Excellent quality, and satisfying build! As a big fan of both Lego and the Beatles this set became very special to build. For fans of the original animated film, you'll be pleased with the attention to detail. It also looks great displayed. Unlike some Lego sets, this one manages to ride that classy line of Lego and art piece. (Fun Fact! for fans of the animated feature, you can complete the build in a little over the runtime of the film!). The packaging for the product was also gorgeous, and definitely worth saving. It's one of my favorite sets to date.

While looking for Christmas presents for my nieces and nephews this year, I came across this AWESOME Lego set. They are all too young to appreciate this (although I totally bought the Beatles Little People for my 1-year-old niece...who loved the little Beatles guys!).So, I put this Lego set in my cart and just sat on it. Every time I logged on to Amazon, I saw it there and it just made me smile. Finally, I got the "ONLY 2 left!" notice and pulled the plug, knowing how Lego "retires" their sets WAY too soon.For $135 bucks, this was a disappointingly small set. BUT...for a unique Beatles Lego set, it was worth every penny.

This is a great Christmas gift! I ordered one for myself and couldn't wait to put it together. At 553 pieces this toy/puzzle is a heavy little sucker once completed and is far larger than being only five inches long as listed, it's more like 9 inches long. Interesting each package 1 through 5 inside as you build the sub starts with John, then Paul, then George and Ringo. It's a little tough on the fingers and the white base was a nightmare to put together but I finally got it once it was layered with other pieces. It takes around 4 hours to put together but be warned, the pieces get much smaller towards the end. This is a great conversation piece that should last for years to come. Very colorful!

The media could not be loaded. Definitely a niche set for hardened LEGO fans, fans of The Beatles or fans of the movie. Also a must for anyone collecting the LEGO Ideas / Cuusoo range, of which this is number 15. Look beyond the collectible aspects and this is in fact a beautifully rendered version of the yellow submarine with some awesome minifigs of John, Ringo, Paul and George and not forgetting the slightly odd Jeremy Hillary Boob, Ph.D.Please check out my video review to get up close and personal with all aspects of the set.

This is a great item! I bought it for my wife and she loves it just as much as when she was staring at the box at the LEGO store last year. I bought it for her this year, as did her parents. Great minds think alike I guess. I give it 4 stars because she likes it so much even though we haven't put it together yet.I would give it 5 stars if I could return it though. I'm being penalized for (unknowingly) duplicating a great gift idea! Guess it's time to re-sell it!
