The blue color on the watch dial is much darker than what is pictured in the product listing. The blue is so dark it is almost black. The color does not "pop" like it does in the picture. The hands are very difficult to read due to the entire watch face being so dark. The size and build quality of the watch seem good but since it was the color I'm looking for I will likely end up returning it. There are also several other reviews that mention the blue color is too dark.

Almost all Bulova Marine Stars are a lot of watch for the money. This model, 98B308 has the blackened case and metallic blue combo. The blue metallic is very dark and is more subtle than the picture indicates and bright light at the right angle is needed to show it off in a similar way - which might be more desirable or less depending on your preference. I bought this at a price roughly half of suggested retail. It is usually not too hard, if patient, to buy a Bulova with 20%-30% discount. You are going to get a mineral crystal -not a sapphire - at this price point, which is reasonable. The crown IS NOT screw down on this model, so even though the case back says "Water Resist 100m" I am NOT going to use this watch for swimming, but probably OK for sailing or car washing etc. The watch is large, so make sure you can "pull-off" the look when wearing... I now own 5 various Marine Star watches and enjoy them even though I own more expensive brands.
