The product had many quality ingredients and none that I couldn’t have
I would say that the products were well thought out, the flavor was not overly strong and the price while it could be a little less is doable

Pea protein free!
I have been buying this product for a year now. It is the only product i can find without pea protein. I am allergic to alot of ingredients in vegan protein powders, but this powder just makes me feel good after i eat it. The flavor is good too. I blend it with blueberries , bananas, spinach, and flax milk. It's like a dessert .

Strong Stevia taste
I really liked the ingredients of this protein supplement except for one - STEVIA. Way too strong taste. Overpowers the taste of the total drink. Just leave the stevia off and it would be a 5 star all the way.

This mixes quite easily when using a submersible handheld mixer. Taste is blah.
I'm not a body-builder or anyone who feels the need for protein powder as a daily diet item. That said, this mixed quite readily when mixed with a handheld mixer with a whisk attachment. Trying to mix by hand or shaking, it stayed quite lumpy. As far as flavor, this didn't taste a whole lot different than Vanilla flavor of the same brand. I mixed another tablespoon of cocoa powder with it and it definitely improved the flavor.Whether it had a health benefit, I am unable to measure, so can't comment.

Better when mixed with other protein powders from soy or whey
We've used various other Garden of Life products before, including their vitamins and Amazing Greens mix. In the mornings we typically make smoothies for breakfast and include a couple of scoops of protein powder in vanilla or chocolate. Sometimes the powders are really, really good like the flavors from Quest, and sometimes others have a definite green/plant/dried bean taste to them like this one does. Not surprising since the formula is vegan and based on beans and rice rather than soy or whey. It's not horrible, but if you have a picky palate I don't think you will enjoy this one. As my husband isn't a big fan of the bean-y taste (or the pea-based ones either), he will use a scoop of this along with a scoop of a better tasting soy or whey-based brand.I like that this is a good option for adding fiber and is low sugar, but I wish it was more nutritionally complete. We have the other protein powers from Garden of Life which have all the amino acids and multiple vitamins. Still, when combined with another more complete protein powder, this helps round out with the fiber and MCT and beneficial bacterial strains.I had to look up what Allulose is, and I'm not sure if I am okay with it or not. While chemically similar to fructose, it isn't processed the same way by your body. It is mainly absorbed in the intestinal tract with about 30% of it leaving the body without ever being digested, and doesn't seem to affect the gut biome the way fructose does. This means allulose may not cause the same kind of gas and bloating fructose does. Allulose also doesn't appear to raise blood sugar the way fructose does, so it doesn't lead to blood sugar spikes, insulin resistance, and an increase in belly fat. It's only four calories per gram which is 90% less than fructose/white sugar. It may also have anti-inflammatory properties, which is the exact opposite of fructose. Multiple sites and studies claim it tastes identical to white sugar/fructose, but since it's 70% sweeter, you can use a LOT less of it. The problem is, it's still a sugar and some health food companies are using it to extremes. A 150# person can have about 28 grams of allulose per day without experiencing nausea and raging diarrhea. There's one supposed healthy cookie out there with 28 grams of allulose in just one of their cookies, which would be your daily limit to avoid some nasty side effects. There still isn't a ton of research out there on allulose, so for now it seems okay in small quantities and to not have serious side effects. We need to remember though that people once believed the same about other sugar alternatives like saccharin, acesulfame potassium, sucralose, and aspartame only to find out decades later that too much consumption can lead to liver issues, kidney issues, gastric issues, and even weight gain since many people end up eating more to make up for the missing calories the body is tricked into thinking it is getting (but actually isn't) from artificial sweeteners.

Really good on sensitive stomachs
Garden of Life Chocolate Plant Based Protein Powder with Fava Bean, Sprouted Barley & Rice Plus Immune Support & Probiotics for Digestion – Dr Formulated MD – Non GMO, Carbon Neutral, 14 ServingsThis is another protein powder that I am trying in my quest to get enough protein. I am vegetarian and I've gotten to the point where most protein sources upset my stomach. Whey protein is horrible and I cut that out a long time ago. Soy was my mainstay and now that one is giving my stomach problems as well. So now I'm on the search for non-soy sources. Fortunately more of them become available all the time.I have absolutely no problem digesting this protein powder. I have tried the chocolate flavor and I do prefer the flavor of that one, but this isn't bad and I mix it with frozen fruit or some chocolate syrup to make it better. As it gets mixed, the flavor is less important to me than the amount and types of protein that it contains. It has the pretty much standard 20 grams of protein per serving and the ingredients seem to be good. It has just the right amount of calories and I like that it doesn't have a lot of fat in it.This seems like a good company that makes a worthwhile product. The price is reasonable for fourteen servings, putting it right around $2 per serving. I've tried many proteins that are somewhat cheaper but this product seems higher quality and I'm always willing to pay more for quality.
