Rockford FosgateT1S2-10 Power 10" T1 Slim Single 2-Ohm Subwoofer

I paired this shallow mount sub up with a box from audio enhancers that is 1.4 cu. Ft. and it sounds absolutely perfect. I am powering it with a R5001D amp from Rockford. This is in my 2019 Tacoma.

After waiting a year for a few reviews on the new Power series shallow-mount 10" subs by RF, I decided to be the guinea pig with so little information out there. If you've been eyeing these woofers, you know the price was a bit hard to swallow starting out. They have now dropped at many vendors from the MSRP of $499 each to $379. That puts the Rockfords within $100 or so of the highly rated Jl Audio 10tw3-d4 shallows that I had also considered; and the engineering of the former pushed me to spend the extra dough.My initial impression is it will be money well spent. I installed the set in a full-size, sealed enclosure box (air space of .65 cf per side) behind the back seat of a 2011 crew-cab F250 pickup. The T1S2's are replacing a set of Rockford P3SD2-10's that have been terrific for the past two years but were always pushed to the limit at the highest volumes. The issue was never the quality of the speakers but more about keeping up with the Rockford Fosgate 12-speaker component tweet/mid system I already had in place throughout the truck... a vehicle that despite its enormous volume lacks space for full-depth subs.Based on just a few days of use, here's my take on the new T1S2-10's powered by a Rockford P1000X2 amp that delivers 500 watts per channel at 2-ohms unbridged:* The sound is tight with exceptionally quick reflex. Of course, for brand new carbon-fiber subs you would expect the sound to be tight; but these subs do it while still delivering the deep, lingering lows - even playing EDM music.* Needless to say, these speakers will be in a break-in period for at least the next 30 days. So I haven't fully pushed them by any stretch (except for a brief period in which I couldn't help myself). What I can say, however, is that dialing these subs up to what was the threshold of the previous 10's is clearly not a challenge for the new ones. Where I would have historically lowered the bass somewhat to avoid distortion, I can actually increase the tone on these... and they seem to be begging for more.* The biggest surprise - again, given that these are brand new - is their response at lower volumes. Yes, I have to change the EQ setting or turn on the loudness (for now), but I was really expecting the bass to be AWOL starting out at low listening levels. It's there.So my plan is to follow up on this review in 30-45 days since I'm guessing more than a few people have been like me in waiting for the verdict from others willing to give the new RF "Power" series slim's a try. But I'm sure pleased with what they are delivering right out of the box. These give me the impression they could be ear-ringers in a short while. And for the record, when I did press them for 10 minutes of indulgence; it was a lot like wild horses had taken a detour through my back seat.UPDATE: To the audiophile below, I'm glad the info helped you out. I do need to confess to other readers that I "couldn't help myself" in the last few days and had to turn the T1S2's up again and... simply unbelievable! These have the sound of high quality, full-depth subs. It is hard to convey just how hard these puppies hit. As the previous poster attested, this line of slims is doing double - or more - of output as compared to standard shallow-mounts. I am genuinely intrigued with where the limits will even be after break-in.UPDATE 2: I am now 7 months into ownership of these two 10's and can say with certainty: There is nothing like them in a slim. I continue to wonder what the limits are because they sound better every time I turn on my stereo. You want loud? Check. Deep bass? Yes. Tight sound with spot-on response? That, too. And clean, rich tones even at lower listening levels. Rockford Fosgate has created utter ear-candy in this sub model. They have been worth every penny I paid for them.

Well, I ordered this subwoofer from Discount Central Online and upon it showing up the finish on it was not good. Ive bought a lot of products from Rockford Fosgate and it was not up to par with everything else I had ever gotten from them, which should have been a red flag right there. After installation (paired with a Rockford Fosgate T-500 amplifier) the subwoofer didn't last more than a half an hour before the surround had fallen apart. As soon as power was put to the subwoofer it had already sounded like it was blown. Contacted Discount Central Online and they had told me that they wouldn't do anything about it. Im sure the subwoofer is great, as all Rockford Fosgate products i have owned in the past have exceeded my expectations, but I would steer clear of Discount Central Online.

Right off the top the price is waaay hard to swallow,but it gets harder....have 2 prime amps running g the system..the 750.1 making 1000rms and the 250x4 for the doors..my sub at the time was my trusty sundown E10 500rms...swapped it out for the Rockford and within a couple months this 500$ sub was a waste..couldn't hang with 130$ woofer..now to be fair...the woofer sounded good..it's hard to believe that a shallow driver sounded like a full size..but I won't waste my money on the Rockford subs again...

Vehicle: 2011 F150 Larriat Crew Cab, stock head unit. Sony w/ Synch.Goal: Premium sound with Bass that will be more than noticed upon desire. All while maintaining the Factory appearance with the naked eye.Previous configuration: (Phase 1) Fosgate Punch 6x8s front doors, & Prime 6x8 rear doors. R2 10" Sub running at 2 ohms, seated in Probox (ported) powered by RF Prime 600w 5ch. Kept factory Tweets and center dash speaker powered via head unit.Summary: Good, but sub would slap when my teenage son would throw his play list at it. Struggled under some tracks output from Drake (not a fan, but his stuff can find those low Hz.) Amp went in to Protect when exposed to some Bass Nectar at prolonged high volume, justifying my desire for Phase 2 Audio Upgrade; leads us to current config below.Current configuration: Highs and Mids speakers on the same platform. Kept on the same Fosgate Prime class D 600w x 5ch Amp sans the 5th channel. Replaced the R2 10" Sub w/ T1S2-10 (that required minimal reaming to accept the basket size of the Fosgate Power series 10" Sub) driven by a RF Prime 500.1 2 Ohm Amp. Considered going with one Ohm Amp and Sub, but decided against it. In addition to the 500.1 and the T1S2-10, I included a battery cell to minimize the pull on the stock Ford alternator, while delivering constant current to the two Class D RF Prime Amps. At this time not sure if it was warranted, but I will justify the extra $100 if the cell prevents the inevitable.T1S2-10 Conclusion: Zero Regrets. Keep in mind still in the break in period, but it will grab those low notes while maintaining the higher Hz in the 100-240 range for you audiophiles out there and still rattle the fillings in your teeth.Running just this single T1S2-10 Sub sounds better than my two RF 12's off a Punch 75 back in my old high school days. All you Fosgate guys from the old days can relate. Thanks for that first review David to push me over the cliff. Not disappointed at all.Phase 3: Still in the planning stage, but focus is now back on Mids to compliment this bad boy.
