Review: A serious fishing tool. not a gimmick, not a toy. - Love this fish finder for shore and pier fishing as well as from my kayak. Build feels premium. Not cheap feeling. From the moment you unbox it you can tell this is no gimmicky toy like the ibobber. This is a legit fish finder. It puts off its own wifi so it's range is insane compared to the Garmin that is bluetooth and cuts out over every ripple in the water. It's a serious tool. And worth every penny App is very intuitive, readings are accurate, battery last several fishing trips. It's never died on me. Can have it give basic reads. Or complex with more details. Tune everything to your preference. . Find were the fish are, how deep you need to be and heck just if there are fish in the water. It has helped me catch more fish. And tune my set up. Don't like the fish icons, turn them off and read the archs just like on a boats fish finder No more guessing how deep it is, or hunting for the catfish hole. I use a med rod with a 3000 spinning reel, and 20lb braid. It is over 3oz. So it makes a big splash. I will probably switch to a stronger rod at some point to really get it out there far past where I want to scan. I just purchased a bait boat I'm going to attach it to and cruise around the ponds.
Review: Great for kayaks or bang fisherman! - The accuracy on this is next to none when it comes to value for the money. I’m telling you right now from having a family pond that I know down to the inch how deep it is. Comparing it to the sonar you collect with the Chirp 2, it’s pretty amazing actually. The portability the way that you’re able to just take this along on any type of fishing trip you’re doing. Whether it be the river, which I wouldn’t suggest considering the price point. Until after you get good casting it. Wouldn’t want it to hit an log and take off on you but I use 80 pound braid if I’m using this in the river. Functionality is great just an overall great design. I love the bobber look! Also at night you can see it clearly it lights up. The features of this are amazing for the price. I will attach a picture of how I really compared the accuracy from a swimming pool. Then I will post a screenshot from my phone when I was at a lake. This little sonar device is very good at finding fish.. It’s up to you to do the rest! Also, I love how you can sit it to make a noise with the features it has when it detects fish. It really amazes me how accurate it is and it tells you at what feet the fish are. Buy it.! Comparing this with all the big fish-finders of course it’s not gonna be of that quality but for the price point of this. It’s well worth it. I’m sure you can tell by the pictures I have attached. It works well.

**Q: Why dont you sell the chirp+2 model with the built-in gps?**
A: Patents.  Tried that with Amazon Canada and Cabela's.

**Q: So the fish that show up on your phone screen are right underneath the device floating at that time they appear on the screen ?**
A: Hi, yes, you are right. When fishes appear on the screen, it means they are under the sonar, somewhere within the sonar beam.

**Q: Chirp 2 vs pro plus 2. wish i had the built in gps on my chirp 2. should i return it and get the pro? using it in <10 water. detail info also very imp**
A: When it comes to resolution of sonar data, CHIRP is better than PRO in that regard. Yes, CHIRP doesn't have a GPS, but you can still create depth maps when using it with a boat or kayak. It will use your phones GPS to create maps. You can also use CHIRP from the shore - it will scan and show fishes, weeds, bottom structure, etc.

**Q: How long does the battery last when ice fishing ?**
A: Really depends on the settings you use and how cold it is, but it should last up to 10-15h

Battery was a huge upgrade. I only use this mainly for ice fishing and it works great. Connection was good no problem.
