Edit #2: After much troubleshooting, I’ve finally determined that the problem I am having is with the APP I have been using, and not with this product. In fact, once I resolved the problem with my app, I am impressed with the audio I am getting from this microphone. Changing my rating, and my apologies to the seller for my mistake. +1 for your customer service in reaching out to me to rectify the issue. Raising my rating to 5 stars based on a good product and excellent customer service.Edit: I want to be fair to the company that produces / sells this microphone. After I posted the below review, they reached out to me and sent me a free replacement. So kudos for customer service. I really wanted this one to work so I could write my prior bad experience down to it just being a lemon, and give them 5 starts for resolving the issue, but that’s not the case. This new one has the same high-pitched scratching sound as the first one, and is completely unusable. Maybe this mic will work well in a static indoor situation, but for filming outdoor sports where I am moving around the camera to follow the play, it just doesn’t work.Kudos to your customer service, but unfortunately this product just doesn’t work well at all.— Original Review —I bought this for live-streaming youth sports, hoping that using an actual microphone would eliminate wind noise. Every time I speak or the crowd cheers, this microphone turns it into an ear-piercing high-pitched scratching sound. This thing is absolutely worthless. Don’t buy.

Picks up zero background noise. The device is Literally just plug and play. I ordered the 16 feet cord because I knew I'd be standing more than 6 feet away. The cord is very rubbery but it gets tangled up very easily and every time I go to use it, it's in a knot. I took a small container and wrapped the cord around it to help de-tangle as I unwind it. I guess it's unavoidable being that long, but the cord is very "rubbery" so it tends to stick to itself.

Did a test between audio on my regular phone mic and these mics. The sound on the mic is very strong…maybe too strong. If you put it too close by your mouth the audio will distort so be sure to leave it at a good distance, on your lapel is fine I think. It catches good.Not sure about the noise cancellation but as far as capturing audio it’s great.

I purchased a couple of different mic/ podcast equipment off of amazon but this is the only thing I was really satisfied with. Small & simple. . gets the job done . Quality is really good !

Unusable Sound. Absolute waste of time and money. This product ruined a couple shoots because the sound was completely unusable.

Good mic system

If you’re looking to make an old iPhone into a recorder, I would recommend it for starting out. The audio quality is okay. The sound clips very easily, especially in confined spaces such as a car or even a small to medium sized room. I wish there was a volume or sensitivity control to alleviate this issue. In my opinion, the cable is almost too long. It comes with a cable wrap but it’s small and flimsy so you will either lose or break it (as I did). Overall, I think this product has a place in a beginner’s kit.
