Pros/cons from an exclusive pumper
This is a longer read but wanted to provide my full experience as an exclusive pumper for the past 6+ months.I am someone who just use every drop I produce (about 4oz every 3-3.5 hours) I recently discovered my HSA account covers pumping parts so I got a few different sets, this being one of them. I liked how the black flow looked on this. I have a spectra synergy (gold one)Please note: I have used these pumps 3x on 3/7/23 and 2x within the middle of the night (12a/4a) and once this morning at 6am (read why below)Pros:During the day/evening, I really liked these, felt as though I’d make these my main pumping parts. I go from work, internship, school so I am all over the place and was lugging 1 set of parts everywhere.-The black flow, being a lower end producer, I need every drop as my little guy takes in 4-4.5 every feeding now. I noticed with the back flow directly connected to the flange, when my milk would spray I felt some would be wasted bc when I would take the back flow apart there was moisture and milk in it, not going into the valve to give me every drops worth. This set doesn’t have the back flow connected similarly so I was happy and felt I was getting more. All evening I was watching and impressed. To the cons:(Husbands con: says more pieces for him to wash)My con: I am guilty of sitting straight up in the middle of the night against my headboard with a pillow and pumping and falling asleep/doze and setting an alarm for 30 min. I have to be at work at 530 am so every min of sleep I try to get. I wait until I switch modes to do so. (Usually about 5-8 min) I noticed both times (after midnight and 4a) I had like nothing in the cups, nothing! One had less than 1oz and one had exactly 1oz both times! My boobs didn’t feel emptied and felt like it was a waste to wake up. Now, I understanding that I have part to play in this bc had I been fully awake if the flange moved causing suction to stop, I could have fixed this. With my previous parts (maymom flange of 21mm since spectra doesn’t haven’t 21, with my spectra wide mouth bottles) I have been able to doze in the middle of night pumping for the past 6 months without this issue. I use the same set of pumping bras so that hasn’t changed, only change was this parts. Again, that is my fault HOWEVER, If you need your doze during night pumpings like I do, this could present as a set back.Back to a pro:Now, since I only got those little amounts at my 12/4am pumpings, I decided to pump at work at 6am rather than 7am (since I didn’t feel emptied) I brought these newly purchased pumps to use (as well as my former ones in case I had to call it quits on those) 30 minutes later and I pumped 3.5oz on one side and 4 oz on the other. I don’t think suction is the problem here (for me as some reviews stated it was for them) I feel the flanges just don’t necessarily stay in place as well as my others when I’m not fully alert and awake. For those who don’t sleep during night sessions, this could be a great investment, for those who sleep, just as great but minor tweaking necessary.Overall, I do really like them though. As silly as it may sound I feel I will use these all day/evening and in the middle of the night 12/4a use my maymom flanges.Hope this helps! :)

Causes Spectra Motor to Stop Working
The spectra pump suffers from the design flaw that dust gets into the motor and causes it to stop working. The backflow filter that it comes with minimizes this problem, by keeping some of the dust out. And when it falls apart, it falls apart with the filter on the tubing, protecting the motor. This flange, on first inspection, seemed like a great idea. This backflow filter falls off way less often than the original, especially if you stay put in one place while using it. But, DO NOT GET UP AND MOVE AROUND, because then the backflow filter falls off, from the opposite side, leaving the tubing unprotected when it falls down. The unprotected tubing then sucks up whatever it touches, straight into the motor, and that causes the motor to stop working. I did manage to open my pump up, take out the motor, remove 4 very cheap screws, clean the motor, put the thing back together (although I did strip the screws in the process), and get it working again. But that was a MAJOR pain and is not going to work long-term, because now the screws are stripped. You are better off getting flanges that have the traditional arrangement with the backflow filter and dealing with the fact that they fall apart every few minutes.

Wow!
I love this set it’s way better then any other set I have used the reviews made me iffy on buying it but seriously they are great so much better then the ones my pump originally came with! Definitely will be ordering a spare set! (SPECTRA S1 PUMP)

Necessary item!
Lansinoh makes this style flange body for their pumps which is effective as it's easy to hold. These are far lighter than Lansinoh's. Now these bodies do work and is a much better design than the original spectra style. Spectra flange is cumbersome to hold. Grateful there is aftermarket items like this functional item that makes pumping less of a drag.Pumpin' pals flanges do work with the bodies however they are a little loose at the base. It's not a problem since I normally hold mine and don't move around when pumping.Threads seem stable so far and no leaking. Overall for the moment, great buy.
