I had bought a cheaper 564 ink cartridge thinking it was for my HP Printer. Warning ! HP printers will NOT work without HP Ink. Double check what you are ordering. My printer is happy now and so am I.

These cartridges are so expensive, but you have to have them, so shopping around for the best price is a must. I always do a search for these, and make sure I'm not paying more than I need to. One point that matters: always make sure you're buying the genuine HP products and not the knockoffs, as those often have even less ink than the originals, and most printers can detect if you're inserted genuine cartridges or not. These worked great for our printer, and this seller shipped the product very fast (it arrives far ahead of the projected delivery date). We'll buy again as long as the price is reasonable.

I usually purchase printer cartridges directly from HP....never ever had an issue. Because the delivery was the next day and I’m a huge Amazon fan, I decide to buy from Amazon. Big mistake! The first one I purchased did not function properly, Sent it back for a replacement. The replacement worked fine for a while, but it stopped printIng, black. Edit 12/07/2021. Change rating to five stars. Discovered my printer died. Disassemble and cleaned printhead with no luck. I ordered a new black cartridge directly from HP, it didn't make a difference. The original HP cartridges purchased from Amazon were fine after all.

This ink from HP works great in my HP laser jet printer. I have tried using other non HP inks that have been recommended by Amazon reviews and have not had much luck. I’ve even tried all the suggestions to make my printer work with these generic inks but to no avail. Obviously, HP wants people to use their expensive inks. Yes, they work very well but they tend not to last long ( which is the reason I am not giving 5 stars. One trick I’ve found that extends the life of the ink (when you get the message that says “printer low on ink”) is to go to tools on the HP laser jet printer and use the “clean cartridges” function. In this way you can continue using the same inks for an extended time after you get the message. I’ve found I can get away with this approach up to two times.

Quantity and price

Joining in the chorus of reviews here warning that HP (and Amazon) have done a bait-and-switch and halved the size of the black ink cartridge while still calling it the "XL" size. In fact, I did a re-order by going to my previous order page and re-ordering from the link of the precise product I previous purchased, but instead received the new product that is half the size. What makes this even more insulting is what they basically did is take the previous not "XL" version and put the old "XL" (which was supposed to designate the extra capacity) on it. So they literally baited-and-switched. HP lost its soul a long time ago and has been a scummy company for a while now. Their printers are now cheap commodity products intentionally designed to break after a couple years. I have been through many, each with light use. I recall when one of them was "bricked" by their own software update, only a month out of warranty. I called TECH SUPPORT and got routed to a call center in India where the person didn't know enough tech to set his watch and spent the whole time trying to sell me on buying a new printer from him on the spot to replace the old one. He said I would get a deep discount because they were doing it to fix their tech problem but when I looked it up on real time online he was quoting MSRP and about $150 more than I could buy it online. When I called him out on that he hung up on me. And this was their official tech support line. I went online and was able to fix the software problem myself by reverting to an old version and the printer was fine... For another 3 months until the internal power supply failed and they wanted $250 to fix it, which was more than it cost to replace. That's HP for you. But for Amazon to facilitate this criminal operation by selling the bait-and-switch product under the same product # as the old original version makes them no better.

Changed my printer to a Brother where ink consumption is better.

Ordered product and it arrived when indicated. Thanks. Item works far better instead of after market ink cartridges. Does not leak , and clear colour.

Product is as described. I had written a bad review for it but discovered the problem was with my printer, not with the cartridge.
