Pool Closing Kit - 15,000 Gallons

This will be the 3rd year of using this pool closing kit. my pool is 15' x 52''. I do add extra chlorine tablets in the old floats from the last 2 years. I cover the pool with a black tarp. The water is nice and clear the next spring. Good product, reasonably priced.

Excellent pool closing kit. Over years I've used several different closing kits. They all produced the same results. The pool pool always looked like the black lagoon at opening. This kit is the only one that has worked so far. The water is cloudy but not murky. Highly recommended.

The winterizing kit claims to keep the pool water clean overwinter. Based on the ingredients, this seems like a reasonable claim. Here's what is in the kit: Winterizer 32 oz Copper Triethanolamine Complex 3-4% 82027-59-6 Winter Stain Away 32 oz: HEDP (1-Hydroxyethylidene-1, 1-diphosphoric acid 13-15% ) CAS 2809-21-4 Chlorine free shock 2 lbs Potassium Monopersulfate (Pentapotassium bis(peroxymonosulphate) bis(sulphate)) 45% CAS 70693-62-8 Time-Release Winterizing Enhancer Floater ~2.5 lbs Filled with non-chlorine oxidizer (Might be the same as Chlorine-free shock Pool Sorb The Winterizer is a copper-based algaecide and is an important (probably the most important) item in the kit. I'm unsure of the importance of the other items. The cost for a 15,000 gallon pool is $45 which seems reasonable, although you might save some money buy just buying a copper-based algaecide and some chlorine-free shock I'll add to this review in the spring (If I remember) to let everyone know how well it worked. Also, you must clear and use antifreeze for your pool plumbing if you live where freezing temperatures can occur. Finally, I used to use a large tarp to cover the pool for the winter. A few years ago I purchased a safety cover which is well worth the investment. Highly recommended.

Usually we drain our pool and refill it every year to avoid murky swamp water that's ends up being a breeding ground for a cajillion frogs and who knows what else but with the increase of absolutely everything it's just not even possible anymore to drain and refill and we still want to enjoy the pool at minimal cost so we decided to try to close it and leave the water in it. We followed all the instructions and throughout the winter season we had some issues the worst being a couple of holes in the cover that ended up allowed a few branches and leaves to get through so we ended up taping it and hoping it would last until it was time for the big reveal. OMG you guys!!. We just pulled our cover off today and we're absolutely amazed by what we see. We were blown away by how the water is still clear I mean "WHAAAT" I didn't think that would actually be a thing!!. Just WOW. Sooo... We decide to buy the chemicals by the same company to open the pool and that's what we are currently doing now. The whole process of closing was pretty easy and even opening is pretty easy too. We have no complaints and are very happy that our pool will be up and ready in the matter of a days. We are officially customers for life. Now please don't raise the price 🤣
