Great Knife!!!!
This knife is exactly what I expected, and I knew what I was purchasing so I'm 100% happy. People who are unhappy with a schrade knife obviously don't know the product. Even though people buy this knife for camping uses, this knife has an extremely useful purpose which gets overlooked constantly - It is a small, concealable, perfect knife for defense or hunting. This knife will easily penetrate skin, hide, husks, membranes, & bark. Although the blade angle is not as little as others (the smaller the blade angle the sharper it can be made) which makes it not as good for cutting/whittling/slicing, don't get it mistaken this knife will slice the skin & hide like a razor as long as you take care of it. Since it does have a wider angled blade edge, it will stand up to some pretty tough abuse and hold the edge for a much longer than these new thin blades that are all the hype now-a-days.This blade is quality, the sheath is kind of goofy, but if you plan on putting it on your belt it is 100% perfect for that. If you want the sheath to be in a concealed location this isn't the sheath for you. Also, you can remove the clips to make a paracord wrap on the case and hook it to a hunting or tactical vest.Absolutely great, just as advertised, I won't make this any longer of a post. I could go on for days about the positives. Came packed nice and neat, was shipped & received extremely quickly, and I have no complaints about seller at all. Love this knife, will buy more knives from Schrade ABSOLUTELY.

Great survival dagger
The Knife is well made although not made in USA (Taiwan) Is is a very sturdy survival/defense product. It has a unique sheath with a push button release that works really well especially if you are using it as a boot knife. The knife came sharp but not razor sharp which is really not necessary for this type of weapon. I would consider it as a mini British Commando Dagger with a water proof match box in the handle.

Very cool, but not perfect
There are pros and a few significant cons. First of all, the knife itself is very cool. I love the feel of the grip, I think it’s a VERY solid blade with one piece construction. The tail cap screws on very tightly and there’s no play. The blades aren’t as sharp as they could be, but that’s an easy fix and I’ve already dealt with that. The sheath COULD be cool, but it falls short. The safety lever does NOT hold the knife tightly in place. The catch doesn’t fit well or deep enough into the groove in the side of the knife, which means that you can easily draw the knife from the sheath without ever touching the safety lever, let alone actually disengaging it. The other issue with the sheath is that the clip is tight, as in way too tight. Tight is good, but it’s so tight that it requires some real muscle to actually clip it to any decent boots. Additionally, the knife is so top heavy that the sheath continue to lean over rather then remain vertical. In other words, the sheath is the problem, but the knife is very cool and could be highly effective.

They made me alter my review of this crappy knife
Just so you know this is my second edit. Amazon won't allow my initial review because I pointed out exactly how I feel about companies that employ bait and switch tactics. Oh, well, I'll leave that out. The knife depicted in this ad is not the knife you'll be receiving. Different steel, different sheath. There may be some argument that it is not dropped forged (too much coating to determine really). It is terribly butt heavy (which further complicated the crappy sheath with no locking . Complete rubbish.

Built like a tank....
There’s really nothing about this blade not to like. Machined out of one SOLID piece of steel reminiscent of 70’s and 80’s Chris Reeves combat knives. The hollow handle is sealed with a rubber O-ring. I keep OTC meds and cotton fire tender in mine. The sheath is a well made metal belt clip/hard plastic sheath however does NOT securely contain the blade upside down. When carried vertically, it can be deployed quickly, which is convenient. The screw top pommel had a glass-breaker steel ball on it. I ground it off because, for me, it interfered with a proper hammer grip. Trust me, it’ll still break glass. The double-edged blade is well executed and designed for forward penetrating thrusts in soft targets. This blade is purpose built like a tank and priced much below a Chris Reeve-type blade. I liked it so well, I bought (2) two.Hope this helps someone. : )

Dangerous Knife! Poor sheath retention.
First, I want to say the knife itself is great. Not very sharp but nicely made and 100% reliable for its intended purpose. Watertight handle storage and breaker tip on the pommel are excellent. Very similar to the old Chris Reeve designs in miniature. Overall really nice!BUT, the sheath and retention clip are a like disaster waiting to happen. The spring loaded retention clip is useless and does not contribute at all to keeping the knife secure. The knife is held in place entirely by friction. If you don't push it in far enough and this deadly dagger slips out, this thing could kill you. I'm not exaggerating. As far as the knife is concerned, the knurled handle is reasonably "grippy" but the bolster could use an extra quarter inch in width. Horizontal serrations along the flat spots on the bolsters would also be very helpful in a combat situation. This knife is not for hunting, fishing, or whittling wooden camp pegs. Remember that blood is slippery and the more purchase on the handle the better. The overall size enables good concealment.Schrade made a pretty good knife here but the lack of positive sheath retention is a potential disaster. The friction fit is unreliable and makes the knife difficult and awkward to remove when shoved all the way in. And if you don't shove it all the way in, it could easily fall out when you don't want it to. Don't even think about horizontal or inverted carry!I do not recommend buying this knife unless you plan to have a good quality custom sheath made for it. Do not trust your life to the poorly designed sheath that comes with it.
